tucker_kroll_69
this is an ages old scenario, but i'd like to see the approach others have taken in resolving similar situations in their own lives... there is a young woman who's love-image i've fancied from afar for quite some time. she works in a sandwich shoppe not far from my work-post, and i recently approached her on her lunch break and things went very well in so far as the conversation was concerned. we exchanged numbers and have seen each other casually a couple of times. we are both strongly attracted to each other and i would like to really get to know her and her personality. the only problem is that she does not approve of the nature of the business of my part-time employer (the one located down the street from her sandwich shoppe - i also have my own sales company). without getting into too much detail, this could be a big problem down the road because the majority of my friends/clients patronize this work-post. despite the fact that we find each other more than sufficiently attractive, should i cut a possibly rewarding relationship short before it even really begins? jmargel
So you are willing to not even let this relationship even start because of a part-time job? I'd say give it a shot, and cross that bridge when you get to it. Its upto her whether its a big enough issue right now to date you or not. Let her decide.
Author tucker_kroll_69
your point is well taken, employment at most part-time work-posts would not be worth sacrificing what appears to be a potentially fruitful relationship. however, the majority of my friends/casual partners in a love-manner are actually patrons of this establishment. which even still wouldn't be an irreconciliable problem, as many successful relationships work even without the approval of each other's friends. but to this i will tell you that she acted very snotty when i brought her by the bar the first time, saying she didn't approve of the lifestyle of my friends, actually telling one to go jump in the lake. i was obviously pretty pissed off, but you have to remember this girl has a love-image that just won't quit man!!! i'm always thinking about her beautiful female form. plus, she apologized and said she would try harder to accept my friend's/clients "alternative" lifestyles, which i think is a positive sign. i guess she probably deserves a second chance, although i'm unsure as to whether to bring her around my friends again - a quandary indeed. moimeme
who says things like 'love-image', 'love-manner' and 'work-post' if not Dave?
jmargel
That's what I was thinking.. lol Anyway if this is for real, give her the chance. Don't bring your friends into this right now, just focus on each other.
Author tucker_kroll_69
sorry, those terms are just regional slang i guess. i moved to south-east florida several years ago (the palm beach/jupiter/hobe sound area) and i have to admit i found these expressions a little strange at first too. they're pretty much ingrained in my vocabulary now, for better or for worse, so i apologize if they don't make much sense. but then again, how much slang terminology really does make any sense? for example, the "bling bling" saying used by the negroes in their gangster rap videos. anyway, i don't know who this dave1234 character from today is, i take it he's a regular poster? if he speaks the same slang he may come from south-east florida as well, but based on that message he wrote i'm sure he belongs in a state mental institution somewhere. preferably one where they teach english as well! Jerrel
I used to be in the same situation & I was not so sure that this woman would approve of my uncharacteristic lifestyle & the "habits" that engross this lifestyle. Have you ever thought about including her in on your venture. While not aware of your indiscretions, she may enjoy given it a try. Just a thought... By the way, my balls ache. Author tucker_kroll_69
thanks for the advises guys. i've decided that i will carry forward with our budding relationship making careful note to keep the affairs at my work-post completely seperate from whatever unfolds in our relationship. i've got friends at some other shoppes in the area i think she would find pleasing to associate with in groups. i have to admit that i had been hiding behind the false wall a little bit about the true nature of my part-time employment and why it is crucial that a relationship not interfere. somehow, jerrel has been either astute enough to pick up on the hints, or is someone i know that i told about this site having some jollies at my expense... well whoever you are - and i've got my suspicions GEOFFREY!!! - you should know that bringing a girl whom i fancy quite a bit into the business would probably not be a wise move. thanks for the suggestion though i guess, even if it's meant to mislead me into murky depths or distract from my profitable business. either way, i don't see how the current situation of your love-orbitals pertains to my predicament at all! in my brief experience i've found they keep it clean, or "above the belt" like they say in the great sport of fencing, on this message board. have a happy new year everybody. may your celebrations be filled with wine, women and song!!! 2004 here we come YEAHHH!!!!
