Mittelschmerz...anyone suffer from it?

You know...the pain in either your left or right ovary during ovulation. I've had it for years now, only as of today, it has lasted two days instead of 24 hrs. My doctor says there is nothing to do about it; just aspirin and rest. But it is really putting me out! Does anyone have any tips for the pain?

Hey.

Try drinking warm to hot water as night especially after your last meal. Add some lemon in there if you want and/or honey. Just take sips you don't have to chug it. Any OTC analgesic will help also like Asprin or paracetamol.

I've had ovarian cysts, so I do know about pain!

 

Take advil or some other over the counter pain reliever. And, get a hot water bottle, heating pad or a big sock with rice (warm it up in the microwave for 2 mins or so) and put it on the side which hurts. That helps me alot.

Was diagnosed about 2 years ago. I found nurofen helps ... a little, but yeah I was reading too that drinking water is supposed to help. Also, I was prescribed a contraceptive pill, I get the pain for about 2-3 days on the left side. I didn't fill the prescription though because I also get migraines.
