Am I just being stupid?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone on these boards! I recently joined so I can ask some advice of this community on a situation I'm in the middle of.

To put it as short as possible. I met this girl who is the picture of what I'm looking for. Sweet, kind, caring, understanding and generous. We had an instant connection and chemistry was off the walls after just a few conversations. The first time we hung out she cuddled with me during a movie we were watching and such.

After a little while we were talking and I teased her about something and she responds with 'I'm definitely attracted to you, I can't lie.' A day or two goes by and she sends me a epically long text explaining why she feels things progressing and needs 'time for herself' and 'she isn't looking for anything serious' and that 'she doesn't want to hurt me. At the same time though, she isn't pushing me away and after that she agreed to a date! We've been talking as much as we did before that conversation, but I honestly have no idea what I should do! Would I be a chump to go after it and try to 'change her mind' or would I be better off just dropping it and moving on? She tells me she isn't interested in anything serious, yet it seems like she's the one who keeps pursuing me.

It almost sounds like instead of you being her Mr. Right, you are her Mr. Right Now... Sounds like she likes you, but wants you to know up front she doesn't want to be serious.. ie: she doesn't want a commitment to you in case someone better comes along. I hope I'm wrong though for your sake! Good luck man!

Hate to say it, but it is possible she has a boyfriend and she's just testing the water.. Shield your heart.. When someone, male or female says they are interested, attracted etc, yet say they aren't ready to committ, usually it means something more.
