There's this guy that I know. I like him as a friend but that's as far as my feelings go for him. Whenever we talk on the phone he always tells me he loves me. I just answer with an "ok". I don't know what to do. I like him as a friend and everything and I don't want to lose his friendship by not talking to him but I don't want to hurt his feelings by telling him that I don't love him. I feel like he's trying to push me into something I am not ready for. Whenever I talk about something that I like he'll say " we'll have one of those when we get married." I right away think marriage?? I only like you as a friend. I guess what I want is an easy way to tell him that without sounding rude and without ruining our friendship. Thanks for the help.

If he's a good friend of yours and you really care about his feelings, do try to let him down easy. Set up a "date", where you two are alone and can talk quietly and direct. Tell him that you have no intentions of getting married to a friend. Your husband has to be more than that. Let him know discreetly that you're friends and you don't want to ruin your relationship. This way you won't hurt his feelings and can keep a steady friendship between the two of you.
