I want a purple Maserati with gold-plated trim, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna get it.

Unless my novel makes the Bestseller list...:D

oooO, can you tell us what novel? I may just read it :)

This may be helpful to those seeking an Asian wife:

http://lonelyasiangirls.com/asian-wife.htm

Note the "Are you a generous person?" section -

But should you be engaged to or married to a Asian , you should be prepared to provide financial assistance to your new, extended family when they need it (for schooling, medical care, or food). If you are reluctant to accept your new wife's family as your own, your lack of generosity would certainly create some turmoil in your relationship. You will intuitively know when you share your wife or fiance's family obligations and once having visited Asia you will fully understand the reasons this occurs.

You mean these American guys didn't already know this? Surely they knew they had to take on the family as well. Guys do your research.

I've read posts on other boards by guys who have gotten so tired of American women that they've emigrated to other countries, particularly in Southeast Asia.

I think those guys have a very distorted perspective.

Of course they do, but if they're into the submissive thing, and into human rituals mired in the dark ages, then fine. At least they're doing us the courtesy of going elsewhere.

Some of their collective experience is like a self-fulfilling prophecy, as when they do land on foreign shores, and mix into the local life for a period beyond that known to most tourists, suddenly they're the "foreign looking", "foreign speaking" people who are seen as interesting by those in the area. This reinforces the poorly-conceived notion that the women of ______________ are somehow ('inferior' - just the way these guys like them) to women in _________.

I do find that many women outside the states are quite different. They're usually more accepting with gender roles - i.e. always cleaning, cooking, their man's needs come first, loyal, respectable, more honest, etc which is soooooo much more attractive as a partner. I want a lady not a party girl or woman that thinks she's equal to man!

So we are less according to you?

Completely agree with you

I think a lot of those expat types are under the impression that all they need to do is snap their fingers overseas and women will be obliged to screw them or give them bj's.

Dream on, guys!

Yeah, I see what you're saying. It would be hard to find a woman who agrees she isn't equal to a man when she was raised in a country that recognizes her as an equal entity and not a mere 3/5ths of a person.

Way to show what you're really about.

No, that's not as all what I meant but I can see how it could be misinterpreted.

I meant the women who confuse their natural abilities with that of man's ...men being the hunters and women the gatherers. I'm talking about the women who try to be hunters. Very unattractive.

Rephrase - I want a womanly woman!

No. You're different. Not less and certainly not equal.

We'll all be better off the sooner women start recognizing this :)

I am sorry but just because we have estrogen and you have testosterone doesn't mean that we are predetermined to certain roles and stereotypes. We are all individuals with different tastes.

And a woman can be womanly and work at the same time, not being a housewife.

I can see that you have particular tastes and I respect you for that, but you shouldn't assume that all women should be like that. Traditional roles is just something made by society, there have been a lot of matriarchal societies also.

We'll all be better off the sooner some men start recognizing this :)

The thing is it isn't going to revert back to the way it was. Women are going to keep marching forward. I'm sure our foremothers had to endure the same type of critizism when they wanted to vote, earn equal pay, not have to wear a bra if they didn't want to:D, and seek out high earning careers. One day young females will look back at even 'this time in life' and wonder how we women managed.:)

For the most part, yes it does

Traditional roles have been made by society? pssshhh  Because nature has given you the option to be a football player, right?

I hope not because you'll have it pretty easy as it is :D

Most men I know don't have the ability to be football players, plus I know a lot of women who have more strenght than men.

Physical strength has nothing to do with traditional roles, unless you still feel the need to go out and hunt for food, so the point you are trying to make is not valid imo:D

And actually in this day and age if you are basing traditional roles based on strength, then men should be the one who stay doing the housework and women should be the breadwinners (sitting in an office vs cleaning a house. . . hmm, which is more physical?)

Why can't women build muscle as easy as men? Who do women naturally flock to a partner who provides comfort & security? Why are women more emotional than men? Conversely, why are men more logical than women?

I can go on and on....the point is we're different. We complement one another and shouldn't be competing with one another.

But have natural generic gender differences...

There are genetic differences between the same gender also. Anyway, genetics is not everything. For example, you could have a genetic predisposition for diabetes. . . that doesn't mean you will get diabetes.

Stay with me here...

I'm not talking about diseases as they do not discreminate.

I'm talking about natural gender differences. They do discriminate. They make us different.

You are talking about genetics, I am giving an example about how genetics are not everything, and how there is genetic variability among people of the same sex. If not, all males would be equal and all females would be equal. There are a lot of outside factors that shape who we are and what we like. There are studies of twins who are raised in different countries and in different backgrounds. . . they end up different, even if their genes are completely the same.

You should have been with me when I took down my first buck. I also butchered it, cooked it, and put it on the dinner table.

But then, I am proud of being multi-skilled and only like men that are multi-skilled. I like a true equal as a partner.

I have worked with many people from Central and South America. Most had families they were supporting back home. How well would the wife fare while the husband is in another country earning money if she were your version of a womanly woman?
