Approaching a girl

This post is really for women to answer but guys feel free to give your advice. When you want to approach a girl u like how do you go about doing it. I have the problem of not knowing what to talk about and there is ussually a long silencem, which isnt the best way to get a girl. I no that corny chat up lines don't work and are usually insulting so how else do you get talking to a girl you fancy?

Friendly, neutral chat. Imagine starting a conversation with a lady who was visiting your mom. You know how to smile, be friendly, and chat about the weather, sports, movies, current events, hobbies, etc., right?

 

This works best if you are somewhere that provides a context - like a school or club - where you and the girl already have at least membership in that group in common. I wouldn't recommend walking up to a total stranger in the middle of nowhere and trying to strike up a conversation with no reasonable pretext, unless you have stunning social skills or are bulletproof with respect to rejection.

 

Here's a hint - DON'T start with your "dream girl". Just start being friendly to girls in general. Learn to like and appreciate and talk to many of them, before you take your new skills on the road with the one you fancy. And BTW, you always start out just friendly and nice - like you'd be with anybody. Keep it ambiguous. If it goes well at that level, then over time you can ease on into the level you are seeking.

Just act cool and calm. Be yourself and dont try to hard or she'll see right through you. Whatever you do dont act desperate. That is a major turn off.
