Dumb question, but what is 'business casual'?

First off, I got the job I was after! Yeah!!

 

Anyhow, this will be my first time working in an office environment, and I was told the dress code was business casual, with jeans allowed on Fridays.

 

What is, or is not, business casual?

For guys it's easy - dockers with a shirt, no tie. For girls it's a little tougher - but slacks or a skirt with a sweater, twin set, or shirt are all fine. Nothing revealing. Basically it's smart casual - no suits required, but you should always keep a jacket at hand just in case.
