cuppa
OK...all the fit ladies in LS. So I feel like each day, I am pushing myself to the limit with my exercises and I make way too many commitments with my workout buddy(ies). So yesterday, I did double down -> 30 mins abs work with coworkers and my crossfit routine is a cardio killer (5*5 bench press 55#, 3*3 Overhead Squats 55#, 1 Mile running, 575 jump robes, and 1750 M rowing in addition to overhead squats & bench press). This was hard for me because I sucked at jump robes (finished last with 20+ mins). Today, I did my Muay Thai Kickboxing (same type of drills - burpees, push-ups, sit-ups, hell raisers, squats - then drills like burn outs, round kicks, etc etc). I weighed myself the past 2 days and I lost quite a lot of weight (no doubt it's water), I think about 2 - 2.5 lbs of water loss. So today, I promise someone that I will be there for crossfit and then I saw the workouts and got chicken out like crazy. I am not tired but given I already did my muay thai kickboxing today, I'm not sure if I can handle it. My body seems OK right now (not totally exhausted or anything). So, my question: if you are fit (exercise dailly), would you be able to handle this with 5 hours rest from another intense/killer workout? I don't know if I'm trying to talk myself out of it or my body is really tired lol. I did book a manicure appointment instead and now I feel guility because it might be that I got chickened out instead of my body is really tired LOL. Here is the routine: 100 pull-ups, 150 push-ups, 200 sit-ups, and 250 squats over 5 rounds with 3 mins rest (so 20/30/40/50 and rest 3 mins then repeat). Lauriebell82
If you aren't 100% sure you can handle it then don't. If you put too much strain on your body it can shut down on you or you can get injured. Do as much as you can handle basically. I have also found that doing continuous "killer work outs" will eventually exaust you so much that you won't even want to work out anymore. That has happened to me. Don't do it if you don't want to. You said you already exercised so I think you are good for the day!
wuggle
You really need to chill....
torranceshipman
Just do whatever you like and gauge how you feel afterwards, then make adaptations to your routine from there. Make sure your nutrition is good if you are doing a lot of exercise. Don't end up overtrained as that sucks - you wont reach any fitness goals that way... If you feel like a manicure, get one...don't be that person that feels 'guilty' to miss any workout as that shouldn't be what working out is about - it should be about doing what is healthiest for your body... sb129
I wish I had time to fit in a manicure and ONE workout in a day. Agreed- chill.
xpaperxcutx
Are you consuming enough calories? I remember in your other thread you consumed between 1600- 2000 calories a day? At the rate you're going, you're going to burn both yourself and your muscles out. You might need to take 2 days of rest just to recuperate.

I have lost a lot of weight (prior to this weight loss) in the past and have overdid it at the gym to do so. I got burnt out and stopped working out completely because I was so exausted. Unfortunately I gained all the weight back. I think you need to cool it Cuppa. I know the temptation to overtrain at the gym when you want to lose weight but keep in mind that the ultimate goal is to maintain weight loss by CONTINUING to work out post weight loss. If you burn out, you risk gaining back all the weight you worked so hard to lose.
sunrae
If you are tired stop. Rest. Go get your toes done. Let your body rest..
laRubiaBonita
i agree with all the other's responses. are you obsessing over working? if your nutrition is weak it makes you more succeptable to obsessive complusions- such as excercise. not a sermon, just a thought!

I've been eating 1500 (sometimes 1800 - 2000) everyday. Here is my food journal (started tracking them since I want to do the right thing since I've been doing high intensity workouts). I know I don't eat clean but I always have pre-workout meals & post workout meals so I can refuel. Here it is, if anyone happens to be knowledgable in this area, I appreciate the feedbacks: http://www.livestrong.com/thedailyplate/diary/who/lindahwa/ Not sure if anyone cares but my manicure lost and I ended up going to the class and I rested on Sat. Actually, I've been doing this pace for 8 weeks and so far, I feel happy when I am doing it (and feel happy on how strong & fit I have become).

Right, but I think what we are saying is that the overtraining may cause burnout no matter WHAT you eat. I know you feel good but eventually you will not be able to keep up this amount of exercise. It has happened to me. You will also risk injury. I'm not trying to lecture you but I think you do need to be careful. Too bad, I was hoping you'd get that manicure... I got burned out before too, from Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred! , it happened last year. I was aching, spotting, and couldn't sleep. This year is different though..., I built up my stamina since November with Yoga & Running, I also joined a training program so when I lifted, I did it with a proper technique. When I did Jillian by myself last year, I hurt my back & my knees from those lunges & 5 lbs(!) dumb bell. Now, I can do 75 lbs deadlift with high reps and I don't feel a thing in my back. Yeah, this is odd, I used to love shopping, manicure/pedicure, wine bar, happy hours....now, I don't feel like going to those anymore, I spent most of my free time in gym (hubby is of course happy since he wants me to be healthy). Good thing is that in the gym I socialize too so I make quite a few workout buddies (and we always promise each other to be there which makes it hard to bail out lol). I try to squeeze a girl night out once a week though (but of course, after I ensure I take my kickboxing class first LOL).
xpaperxcutx
Sorry but just looking at your diet makes me worried. Not only are you not consuming enough protein, but you're also not consuming enough carbs and fat. Also there's hardly any healthy nutrients in any of the food you're eating. Yeah, you're eating your calories, but you're not eating the right calories. Not only will you eventually burnout your body, but you're depriving your body of the essential nutrients and vitamins it needs to function at its optimal level. Eventually, you'll not lose fat, but your body will try to do everything it can to retain fat. Get rid of the protein bars and add more natural fruits and veggies to your diet. I reduced my protein bars in the past 3 days (after your last post actually LOL) and I ate egg white after my exercise a couple of days ago (again after your post). Anything else other than the protein bars?

Anything else other than the protein bars? What you have been doing is " snacking" not eating. Start adding more wheat bread, broccolis, mushrooms, legumes, beans etc. Adding celery/ carrot aren't going to make a difference, you're starving your body by cutting out all the foods that are healthy. They're not going to make you fat if that's what you're worried about.
