BIG NO NO!!! More so, breakfast is really important. spread to 6 meals and be sure to eat enough. As many highlighted in the binge eating thread, if you don't eat enough, your body knows it and one day, you will binge eating and undo all the things you've done (plus you ruin your metabolism too). I exercise in my living room a lot! Space is not an issue. I suggest you youtube or google High Intensity Interval Training and change things up everyday. Says for push ups, you can do variation (ever heard hindu push-ups? or Spider push ups? or even better, handstand push-ups). I just did it the other day 100 push ups, 10 variation in 10 mins, it's fun! or you can do hundredpushups.com program (where the goal to hit 100 consecutive full push ups). I found that when I have fitness goal, I am more motivated to workout everyday. In addition to push-ups and sit ups, you can do squats, burpees, mountain climbers, squat-thrust, butterfly, scissors, fire hydrant - all of these don't require equipments & space. Just follow a program online. Try to put 30 min a day with these exercises and change things up so you don't get bored. Edited May 4, 2010 by cuppa
Author hotgurl
well I was too embaressed to write here last week. But it turns out my scale was weird as I suspected. Anyways I only lost 2lbs in the last month. So I went to weight watchers and my first weigh in is Thurs so I will let you know. btw Cuppa what are burpees? I only know them as a seed. Rorschach
Don't worry about your scale, as long as your doing well on your diet and keeping good track the weight will come off. Congratulations on committing yourself to something like weightwatchers, they do a great job at helping you stay on track. I hit a new weight loss goal today but I'm posting it in a new thread because I'm an attention whore.

It's the best way to get sweaty and tone your overall body. Want to do 100 of them just like tman, rorschack, and USMChokie had done in the past? .....I think you can easily burn 300 - 500 cals doing this.
Lauriebell82
Ugh, I don't know what to do. No, I am not fat, I believe this. But I have felt sort of disgusting lately. It's not even about gaining weight, just I'm worried I'm not eating healthy. I switched to my evening schedule and I'm not a huge fan so far. They leave junk food in the employee lounge and it's so annoying!!! I end up wanting to eat it at night. I tried to bring healthy food to work as a snack but it's hard when I go sit in the employee lounge (which is also where everyone eats lunch/dinner) and speak with my coworkers to avoid the junk food that is sitting there on the table. I don't want to have to stay in my office the whole night and be antisocial just to avoid the junk food. I'm still working out, but I have to do it BEFORE work now which is not fun either..I end up getting really hungry at work which triggers me more to eat junk! Any suggestions? Can you pack healthy snack? Last year, I had a very difficult project where I consistently stayed till 10 PM every night. All that left to sustain me was a chocolate jar (full of kit kat, hershey chocolate, etc - my office has tons of them). Since then, I vowed to not ever dip my hand in that jar again (which it has been 6 month , quite proud of myself). So what I do now is to bring tons of snacks to my office. I pack fruits (mostly banana and apple), celery and carrots, oatmeal, and some power bars (only if I am going to exercise in the office gym). So maybe you can do the same? Also, is there a place where you can have some privacy in your office? I've seen some youtube videos where some women who have late night shift keep their exercise by doing push-ups plank jacks combo every night. See, that doesn't require space (but you might need to change to your comfy shoes to do this or go barefoot).

Yeah, I can pack a bunch of healthy snacks but the fridge is in another room other then the employee lounge (I don't know why!) So I would have to go to the fridget PRIOR to going into the lounge. I guess before I even go in there I should grab my healthy snack beforehand. The unit I work in is so tiny, I don't even have my own office, I have to use someone else's office who works during the day! I wouldn't be able to do any kind of working out either, I have to be available to help out any patients who need me, especially since I am the only one who is there that late. (counselor wise) I will try bringing the healthy snack into the lounge in order to deter me from the junk. It's also hard because the coffee is in the lounge so when I go in for coffee I see all the junk on the table. I think I need to just get coffee and leave right away to avoid the temptation. I have just felt so nasty since I started eating the junk food, I hate it!

The lounge is in the room next to the nurses station so it's hard that I have to go into the nurses station and I see them sitting there on the table. Since I started working there a month ago I put on 3 pounds. Ugh. Not just even the weight, I just feel disgusting from eating junk and working late at night. I used to go work out at night which kept me from late night snacking. Now I can't do that and I don't like it very much. I can't figure out what to do.

Zombie
Guaranteed weight loss! Have your teeth taken out and replaced by dentures! Had all my upper teeth out last Nov and have since lost 50lb or so! Am now pretty slimline. NOT a serious recommendation btw! I eat only when I'm very very hungry. And, physically, I feel great. Mentally, that's another story and nothing to do with my lovely denture. sb129
OMG, I can't believe you are actually recommending that. I would rather be 50lbs heavier than lose all my top teeth, Here is another one- get in a fight and get your jaw broken so it has to be fixed together, then you will lose weight. There is alot of truth to this, my mother is the same way. She is a large lady and she feeds her family in large unhealthy meals because if she's eating it, she wants you to eat it too so she doesn't feel bad. If you're driving with her she'll ask 'hey, do you want to stop for ice cream?' when what it really means is 'I want ice cream, but I don't want to be the only one eating it' It's quite annoying, makes it difficult to diet around her. Lauriebell82
So I have avoided the junk food!!! Yay!!! I also bought these smoothie mixes that have frozen fruit in them and then you just add skim milk and put them in a blender. They are so good and they really fill you up!! I just feel so much better now that I'm not eating the junk, I lost a few pounds also!

I just feel so much better now that I'm not eating the junk, I lost a few pounds also! Yay, good for you. I'm the opposite now, just came back from 4 days overseas trip, so bone tired, been eating nothing but junk food (well I was in a country in asia which is famous for its street food so I've been eating sporadically, typically greasy fried stuff, and just before I hopped on a plane today, I stopped by to Haagen Daz, got 4 scoop of Ice cream with chocolate & fruits on top with the waffles - gosh, it's so freakin delicious, feel like I died and went to heaven lol). I know exactly what you mean by feeling disgusting. I feel like my butt expanding to the size of brasil. One more trip this week though, don't think I can eat clean till Sunday either .....I guess it has to be next week, I promise to myself to go back to the way I ate before and plus I'll be back to my kickboxing and capoeira class after off for 4 weeks. I can't wait!

SOmetime too it ok to say this week my goal is to not gain and stay the same. I had my weigh in today. I lost 1.8 lbs so a total of 6.5 in 3 weeks. I need to lose 25-30 more. I was thinking at each 10lb interval giving myself a reward. I know when I hit goal I am either buying a guess or coach bag. Normally I would never spend that kind of $$ on a bag but it is a big deal so I want to splurge. Because when I started losing weight I was 185. Now I am 155 so when I get down to 130-125 it will be a big deal. So.

Yes, there is gym but I don't usually use the machine in the regular gym except for lifting. I usually try to do things in my room. I did 100 push ups challenge and did it in my hotel room for the past 4 days (and managed to put in some burpees too ). I will not lose weight this way but I am hoping I keep up my metabolism by keep up with the exercises even while I am on a trip.
just_some_guy
I'm happy because on the doctor scale (balance) at the gym, I finally got to move the big weight over a notch to the left and the little weight is now on the right side. It's about 23 lbs since a year ago and about 18 since the beginning of the year. With all the working out, the muscle mass has increased a lot and I look a lot better than 23 lbs would account for by itself. I've had to buy new clothes a couple of times now. I feel better and my head is in a better place these days. I'm not dieting, but working on changing my habits. Nothing is "off limits" but I'm trying to consciously make better eating choices and stay in the habit of regular, vigorous but not excessive exercise. I have a donut or some chocolate once in a while, or a nice dinner out from time to time. But as a habit, I eat pretty healthy, smaller portions, etc. Since I separated, I have new dishes and I've been trying to acquire plates and bowls and so on that reflect a more realistic sense of portion sizes. Biggest change in habits is to try to have at least two, preferably three vegetables with lunch and dinner and reduce the entree size. I try to get fats from healthier sources, like avocados, olive oil and fish like sardines. Less processed foods, ie, if it comes in a wrapper, don't eat it.
