moimeme
It's morphed back into 'what constitutes sappy', Tony. We could have a separate category just on this since several threads have ended up in exactly this loop

Vivid_29
Originally posted by Tony How do most threads very quickly get way, way off their original topic? Tony T
"Sorry man. Happens all the time. Are we gonna be punished?" I suppose some punishment would be in order. However, depending on your religion, this will occur after death where you will be denied broadband Internet for eternity.
moimeme
OK, that probably wins the LS All-Time Prize for Cryptic Replies. D'you suppose Tony's about to break into Dave-isms any moment? Or maybe that's the Florida pronunciation of the French 'oui'
Thinkalot
Well, I've only just read this thread..so to bring it back to the original topic.... I've gotta say, that regardless of what so many people have posted here, I SEND MY GUY FLOWERS AND HE LOVES RECEIVING THEM! And no, I don't think he is simply humouring me, and no he isn't some wimp. He is just romantic. It makes him feel special. I send them to him at work every now and then and he loves it, and leaves them on his desk so his clients can see them too, and he tells them I sent them. So I end up feeling good, and so does he. So like moimeme says, it really is up to the individual. Maybe he and I are just big romantics.
Beatnik
Hmm...I can think of things I'd rather receive, but I would definitly appreciate the gesture.
CaterpillarGirl
I've given one guy daisies I plucked. He liked them so much he carried them around in his pocket until they withered and turned into dust. He was the sweet sensitive type Moimeme praises (rightfully so!). Usually, though, I go with things I'd like to get: Legos, DVDs, tickets to an NBA or NLB game, etc. That way I can enjoy them, too. Selfish, I know, but no complaints so far! RedneckRomeo
Flowers arent a thing that I'd ASK for - but if they were given, I'd accept them, think it was a nice gesture, and probably return the favor with an even bigger arrangement for her. I'd rather get something more guy-ish, but I wouldn't hate them if they were given.
BrainRightHeartWrong
as a guy i'd love flowers opposed to electronic goods, cars etc. but only if i could plant them in my garden or if they came as a houseplant!!!! so there you girls go!
