What tod o with all the stuff she gave me

Recommended Posts

Well, after the break up 2-3 months ago, i boxed upa ll the gifts she ever gave me, pictures and clothes she made me, a painting she made, whatever.

It's all away in my closet, i can't throw it out though. I just can't bring myself to chuck things like that in the garbage. And i can't keep them, just knowing they're there is torture enough.

So what do i do? I thoguth about giving the box to a fired so she could drop it off on my ex's doorstep. But that would be violating her. So what do you suggest i do? I still love this girl, but i know she's nto coming back ever, so the things should be meaningless. I still can't stress how much I CANNOT throw them out.

I kept all my love letters from my ex. I never re-read them but they are still in the house. If you really don't want to keep them and can't throw them out, you could bury them in the garden or have a ceremonial burning ceremony, like they did in "Friends". Personally, I would keep them somewhere tucked away in your home. You really don't need to deal with that right now. One day, you may make a decision as to what to do with them, but not now.

I'm not sure how having a friend drop off a box at your ex's place is a violation. You are not having any contact with her.

How about donating to a charity?

Pictures and original artwork could go back to her. Clothes etc - how about Goodwill, Salvation Army - you pick the charity...

Kanuck,

In my opinion - put it in a box and shove it in the attic. So that when you get over her, they will always be there as memories.

The reason I am saying this is :- To try and get over my ex-gf I threw all the things away that she gave me, in the hope it would help me to move on. It didn't work for one and the other there was one item which is irreplacable, and now I think when I do get over her that I could have looked back at it with fond memories.
