When Do you know that, You should just be friends after a Love Relationship ends?

I keep seeing a lot of posts where, let's say, A girl leaves a guy and their relationship behind because

she's having second thoughts but still loves the guy.

 

And I see a lot of answers of advice like: Dump her, Give her her space and Don't call her for a Month Or

She can't have her cake and Eat it too.My girlfriend of 5 years wants to leave, she still loves me but she's

unhappy with her life and wants to venture out. She says she still loves me.

 

But Even if you are in love with a girl that's leaving. Have any of you ever experienced a Lost relationship

that turned into a Great Friendship??? Have any of you ever been left by a loved one and turned it into a

friendship or is it awkward or is it painful because you're still in Love with that person? Is it awkward if

you're friends but one of you starts dating someone else?

Your situation sounds very similar to mine and all i can say is there is no right or wrong answer you have to go with what you truely feel. As it it your gf that wants to leave and not you do you realisticaly think you can be great friends with her.. surely you would be devasted if you were friends and she started dating someone else... do you really want to put yourself through that sort of pain?? If she wants to leave I would give her time and see where the land lies for both of you before you start thinking of friendship.....

All I can say is that if she isn't gone yet, get off your ass and try to sit down with her and talk about everything you can and listen to each other. Maybe you can resolve things, or at least you will both have a clear understanding of where things are at..
