I just don't get it. Most surfers I've met, I went to school with quite a many, were total morons, who probably would collapse in exhaustion if someone asked them to spell California yet they always had the hottest girlfriends. What the hell? Granted, not ALL surfers are total morons, so I won't generalize there, but what gives? Link to post Share on other sites

Hot girls may want morons 3. You are not a moron 4. Hot girls may not want you 5. Do you really want some gal who doesn't appreciate you for your finer qualities? And, finally, had you considered looking for other than 'hot girls' since those sorts of girls seem to have bad taste? I'm being a little facetious, here, but for me the bottom line is that if a person hasn't the good sense to appreciate you, who needs 'em. Why mourn that they don't want you when clearly they haven't the intelligence to appreciate you? You might have to settle for a not-quite-as-hot gal who thinks you're the bee's knees, I'm afraid. Being that I'm from Hawaii, I can tell you why. It all goes with the environment -- swaying coconut palms, the warm sand, 30 foot waves -- the golden, tanned skin (still have mine, Moi ), the nice bod (still have mine, Moi ), the surfer haircut (still have mine, Moi ), and surfers got b@lls, being that we have to take on those 30 ft waves. I can tell you, for me, surfers have the same appeal as puppies: they're cute, crazy, and dumb as bricks. Okay, not all of them. You also get the weird, fanatical, guru, "the ocean is my religion" types, too. But for the most part, they are extremely easy-going and upbeat. It's hard to feel down when you are hangin' with Mr Sunshine incarnate! On the other hand, it's also hard to take these fun guys seriously, too, so most of my relationships with surfers have been over fast. Eventually, I stopped being a surfer-chasin' girl, and I think most girls end up making the same choice. But I can't help reminiscing whenever I see a boarder. And the smell of salt-water & sunblock still drives me wild! Link to post Share on other sites
OrlandoGirl Posted January 11, 2004 Share Posted January 11, 2004 I agree with Cat..I love to surf, so I've had the priveledge of hanging out with all the irie surfers on the coast, from Costa rica to cali to florida. I would never date a surfer though, most that I know that live on the beach and have to surf everyday are kind of irresponsible and get "irie" too much for my tastes. WHy do girls like them then? I think they have a certain 'laid back' quality and finesse, that most 9-5er's caught up in the rat race do not. THere's a cool bit of mystique about that in my opinion, their lingo, the extremely down to earth side..and like cat side..the spiritual guru in some. Then again, you have your groupies in any scene who just might not care about that, and want them for their surf butt like it's some sort of prize. Link to post Share on other sites

I guess being from NY I havent run into many surfers therefore none have really peeked my interest. So, I am one who isnt into the whole surfer guy thing.
