Depression/Anxiety and Poor Appetite

Recommended Posts

I am a rather thin guy (close to 6 foot, and ranging from 145-150lbs) and am concerned about my lack of appetite. I'm just wondering if depression/anxiety can cause a lack of appetite, to a large extent. Is this a possibility?

Loss of appetite is only ONE of a list of potential signs of depression. However, loss of appetite alone is NOT an indicator of depression. I would encourage you to discuss your concerns with a medical doctor, or at least check Mayo Clinic's website.

It could be that you are just naturally "a rather thin guy" -- same as others are prone to 'chunkiness' or 'premature hair loss' or whatever -- and a doctor can help you figure it out.

Hey there, thanks for the reply.

I was on meds for depression/anxiety about a year ago, but I decided to stop b/c they weren't helping. My concern is that I look "sickly" thin.
