Andrew1984
Im just recovering from a long term relationship and one of the things recomended to me was to start jogging with my dog, a 3 year old german shepherd. She really enjoys it, but my legs are burning like hell from top to bottom. I can only run about 10-15 min at a time, but im sure that will increase. I do smoke. maybe this will help me quit. Im suprised i havent really been held back by my lungs yet, just a burning in my thighs. My dog however, thinks its the best thing since canned dog food. here she is just for kicks I see all these joggers that run for miles without stopping. I have to stop quite a bit because my legs hurt so much but after a few minutes of walking I can start running again. Edited March 16, 2010 by Andrew1984
johan
Your dog's nose bends to the right. Is it true that dogs end up taking on characteristics of their owners? Jogging is hard on the body at first. Just don't overdo it initially. It's better to get home thinking you could have done more.

I was jogging from Dec-March almost everyday and my knee sarted hurtig like it did when I was younger so Ive switched back to incline training (walking 3.2 on a steep incline setting). It just doesnt feel as intense and yet Im still ehausted afterwards

Youre only 25, so maybe you should just cut down on your smoking to something reasonable like 5 a day

Well luckily there's a clear consensus in this generous nation that you should have decent health care coverage despite your circumstances and luckily the Republicans would never politicize something so obviously essential so don't worry about a thing

GrayClouds
im trying. being unemployed, single and depressed dosent help either. just make sure you have some good running shoes fit for your gait. Then do the 2 min jog 1 min walk for 30 min and build up to an hour. adding time every other week. aerobic exerciser is one of the best med for depression and pretty darn good at keeping the dog sane too. keep up the effort you will be glad you did. I have to stop quite a bit because my legs hurt so much but after a few minutes of walking I can start running again. Well, when I first ran outside, I was surprised how tiring it was. When I first started running with my dogs, I could run 3 - 4 miles in treadmill (5.0 Mph or so) so I thought I was quite fit. Well, I did the first 800 M, was out of gas quickly, and I started walking LOL. Only recently that I could run for miles outside. That is after 4 months of exercising daily + eating healthy (I don't smoke and I only drink alcohol occassionally). So it will take times. PS: your dog is adorable! she should have more endurance that mine. I jogged with my dogs yesterday and took it a bit far than what we used to (they are tiny bichon frises lol...one of them started to whine after a while so I had to carry him until we got home). I guess it won't happen in your case .
