What traits or characteristics does he posess? Whatever traits or characteristics he really does possesses doesnt neccesarily have anything to do with someone calling him a sweetheart. He could be a bad guy but someone just habitually says sweetheart at the end of every sentence. Or maybe he is a nice guy. Means you're a really nice ugly dude..never heard a real hot looking guy called a sweetheart.. Theyres nothing sexy about a "sweetheart" I have been called a sweetheart by many women – many times – usually after we have already hooked up...so I call BUNK on the idea that you cant get over with women and be a sweetheart at the same time. It really doesn't have a lot to do with how attractive/sexy I find a guy to be. I can just as easily call a handsome man a sweetheart as I would a man I'm not attracted to. For instance (since I'm now engaged), if I were recommending a guy to a girlfriend to date, if I thought he was a good guy, I'd call him a sweetheart. It just means that the man has a sweet heart - who doesn't want that? By the way, my fiancee - reading over my shoulder - just said he's a sweetheart. I agree and I find him sexy, too! I agree here. I call my boyfriend a sweetheart all the time, because he is genuinely the nicest and kindest man I have ever met. He goes out of his way to do sweet things for me and I absolutely adore him. He is the only man I've ever considered to be a sweetheart, the other men I dated were ass's and didn't treat me right at all. So in my book it is a very good thing. Simply put: he was so nice, so sexy, so kind and so into me he made my heart melt. I love the word sweetheart and reserve it for only for my favorite people. Oddly, a guy I dated called me a sweetheart and then proceeded to dump me. So maybe the guys here who hate it are only attributing their use of sweetheart to the wrong gender.
