Disillusioned
After running a search on (use your imagination) for "marriage minded singles", I got only 2 groups. One appeared to be for women only, so I tried the other one. Man oh man, was I ever glad I went to that meeting. The hostess was once a player who decided she wasn't getting any happier with serial dating, so she became a keeper and lo and behold, met a man she liked and married him, now they are happy because they communicate. This woman had a whiteboard and a marker---yes, I know it sounds nerdy---and she proceeded to write out the things to do (and what not to do) if you're commitment-minded and you want to keep a commitment-minded partner. She basically nailed down what I've learned from my own observations of the way players and keepers behave. The only thing she didn't seem to know is that men are often under a lot of peer pressure to act like macho studs. I was the only man at the meeting (it was just the hostess and 3 women), but oh well. What a shame there aren't more groups geared exclusively to commitment-minded singles. That way the players could just meet other players, the keepers could just meet other keepers, and we'd all be happier.
