bentnotbroken
An A is a ton of work. Always covering tracks, dying to see someone but can`t... Most recent fun one... BS threw out A-word... and PI in the same sentence... now I have to look for PIs everywhere I go, my MM is paranoid. Is he? There was one involved in my situation, and Mr. Messy never had a clue. xxoo
Huh? can you name one politician that lost his career because of his affair... most of the politicians' wives stand by their man.. therefore these guys don't lose their career... their friends... or even their wife.. It happens here in the US, biggest example being Senator and presidential candidate John Edwards. I'll admit, though, that it is rare for politicians to lose their careers over infidelity. pollyanna22
Ya know..Not everything is about sex for a mm..ow. In fact My husbands OW just lied on her back and did nothing..hence why he is still with me..just saying.

Yes, here in the US does happen. (Not sure where you are at). Also, in finance. Just because it doesn't hit the papers that doesn't mean it is not happening. I work for Finance with the Wall St boys and tons have lost their lucrative positions for messing around period whether M or not. Once people are not in the heat of passion it becomes 'Sexual harrassment'. Elliot Spitzer and John Edwards are modern example. We dont exactly live like 'back in the days' where women were more old fashioned and thought it was the right thing to do to stand by your adulterous spouse and be a doormat. I find it more humiliating to stay with a man that behaves this way. Some BS feel like it is more degrading to end their disfunctional marriages. (Anyway, don't want to sidetrack your subject)

MorningCoffee
Gary Hart. Oh, yeah. HE was so convinced of his invulnerability that, in denying rumors of his womanizing, he dared the press to follow him around. Result: National Enquirer's front page pics of him and his model gf nuzzling on board a boat called -- wait for it -- Monkey Business. LOL. As Bugs Bunny might have said, what a maroon. (Anyway, don't want to sidetrack your subject) I was going to ask if anyone remembered Gary Hart. If not, there's a reason why! He didn't think he could get caught - he even challenged people to find something on him. They did. And it was the end of him. I have to add that I don't think "impeachment" really boosted Bill Clinton's career, either. He was allowed to slide away into nothingness, but that's about all you can say for him now. And while he and Hillary are not "officially" divorced, I can assure you that no one would confuse what they now have for a marriage. So yes, his A's did cost him his marriage and damaged his political career. And the impeachment won't look good in the history books.
donnamaybe
As for those who are not in the political arena, has anyone checked out the previews they've been showing of Jesse James' interview on Nightline to be aired on Tuesday night? He's crying like a baby. If that isn't a clear cut example of a broken man BECAUSE of his screwing around, I don't know what is. Good enough for him, too. Big jerk.
Fieldsofgold
But back to the topic. Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but the married partner should always have a spare set of keys wih him/her. Before I knew he was a MM, my BF came to my house and stayed quite late. I live on a large ranch in a remote area, and we spent a lovely evening driving around the ranch, kissing by the stream in the moonlight, walking along some trails at the edge of the woods, etc. When he got ready to leave, he couldn't find his car keys! I thought he was going to have a heart attack, he was so upset. I kept assuring him I didn't mind driving him home, it was no problem at all. The more I reassured him, the more frantically he searched! Looking back on it now, it really was hilarious. Unfortunately he did find the keys, or I might have found him out sooner.

I did read something about it this morning where he is saying that he took "an amazing life, success and marriage... and threw it all way with his own hands". "HANDS????? Incorrect body part buddy! BIG JERK is right! He made his bed... Honestly, how many MM do you know broadcast with much gleam that they are in an A? So much energy goes into maintaining one... I'm exhausted just from reading what people go through on these boards. Geez! I can't!
White Flower
How come this is on the OW board instead of the Infidelity board? Don't most all mistresses and other women already know how to be discreet? LOL, I read it and think the advice is pretty much for the MM. MW tend to intuit these things on their own. In my case my exH was so ignorant and uncaring I didn't even have to lie to him. He never once openly accused me so I didn't have to. Only difference between me and other MW is we were practically separated already but living in the same house. I'm sure if MM posted on LS saying his MW wasn't sleeping with her H all the BS would have come on saying, yeah sure we believe you and so should you. But it was the truth.
