Swimming & bicycling

Ah, how I loved them... but the last time I can remember going for a swim was 1987, the last time I went biking was 1993. Recently I was sorting through stuff in my storage shed in back of the house and found that old mountain bike... a little rusty but I think it will be good as new with a pair of new tires and a couple of hours with steel wool. But, I'd sell it and get one of those recumbent bikes... or better yet, I'd buy the wheels and build the frame myself. I'd love to build a recumbent trike and ride it to the marina on weekends...

Also am thinking of joining the local Y just to swim in their pool, but I could also use their machines to give myself massive biceps... anything to stop looking like a walrus.

How are your exercise plans going?

Your OP was just a combination of reminiscing and wishing things were different. What have you done?

I find biking fills a nice void of 'enjoyable exercise' for me. Swimming to a lesser extent. When I really don't feel like working out I might just go biking for an hour or two as i can listen to my music, ride a bike (which I enjoy anyway), and maine has some beautiful scenery so I never get tired of just taking in the sites.

I don't feel I get as good a workout as when I go to the gym but if I have trouble motivating myself to do the full routine I can always just go biking.
