tman666
There are a lot of myths about this. Women are always saying, "I don't want to get too big." As if. In fact, the other day, a guy at my gym was complaining that he couldn't curl 80lbs, he was stuck at 70. So I suggested he switch up his 3x10 to 10x3 and build the strength so he can make the jump. He actually looked at me and said, "I don't want to get big - I'm just toning it up for the ladies." Haha when people, especially guys, say stuff like this, you know they've already lost. Game over. tman666
I did 5 sets of 5 with a focus on explosive movement today, probably 20 - 40 pounds than I normally would do on most exercises (today was back and abs) and I have to say even though I only finished the work out maybe 2 hours ago I already am extremely sore. Which I love. So yeah, thanks for the good advice, I'm doing arms and chest friday so looking forward to getting some arm-burn for the first time in forever. Nice job! What exercises did you hit? Rorschach
This is just a planet fitness so mostly they just have machines and a small scattering of free weights, i'm not super familiar with free weights so I really only use them for arms and chest which I know how to do. Today I did crunchs, back extensions, the row, military press, another ab one i forgot the name of, and crazy twisty oblique thingy (yeah I'm such an uber gym buff right here with my high tech names). I don't do alot with back and abs but those 6 exercises took the better part of 30 minutes, this is on top of 30 minutes of stair master which I always do.
tman666
I wish I had the onions to train like this guy: http://tnation.tmuscle.com/free_online_forum/blog_sports_body_training_performance_bodybuilding_log/alphas_work_ii?id=3712734&pageNo=0 Strong as hell, plus insanely conditioned. This guy is an animal, and an inspiration. Every time I start to feel a little sandy down south, I read his log to remind myself of what being tough looks like. Gotta set goals. This is the clip that inspires me to join Krav Maga (apology to capoeirista, this scene makes capoeira looks really bad and I know in the real fight, an experience capoeirista will not show off like that). I think MMA fighter has nice body & quite fit usually. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2VwnBU1-iU&feature=related My friends told me to join triathlon or marathon but I'm really not much of a swimmer or runner. My coworker will join an ironman in 2 weeks, that's quite an inspiration I think. My goal for crossfit: My goal for martial arts: Capoeira (to be able to move like this woman): Have no goals for krav maga & kickboxing (can't come up with one, maybe just get fitter).
