Weight loss brag thread >_>

Sorry, too excited, have to tell somebody if you don't care feel free to hit the back button now. ready? here we go.

Started my diet on 1/24 at 297 pounds, 2/24 I was 276, very excited. Started a gym membership started working out, but stopped watching my diet as closely as I should figuring 'hey I'm working out now I have a little wiggle room'

WRONG

3/24 I weigh 274 pounds but I look slimmer as I've been working out (I'm sure I lost fat and gained muscle but the scale didn't move and that bugged me)

3/31 I weigh 275 pounds and I'm tired of the scale not moving at all. I decide I'm going back on my diet in a big way and I'm not going to look at the scales for 2 weeks (I had been checking every morning).

Over the course of the two weeks I did pretty good for the first week (easter threw me off for a day but other than that I did well, and I think i did pretty well for a holiday too ;)) and I kicked butt on the second week. Worked out a total of 10 times in 2 weeks (which is more than average for me but I think I'll keep the schedule going because it's working).

Stepped on the scale this morning, 262. I was hoping I'd finally cross into the 260s after a couple weeks but apparently my body was dying for a chance to drop a few pounds after having that lull in activity, so now I'm close to the 250s, almost 40 pounds lost, and almost halfway to my weightloss goal.

joy!

Last november I went moose hunting with my family, most of the time we just drove around in a pickup truck, me riding in the backseat feeling awful for taking up so much room. Ever now and then we had to get out and take a short hike through the woods, and I was frankly amazed at how tired I got so quickly, up until that point I had never really noticed a lack of energy or any unfit feel with the weight on, but I sure noticed it there. At the same time one of my great-uncles almost died on the trip because of diabetes, luckily his son, my uncle, was around and he's an EMT so we managed to save him. But that really but the fear of god in me.

Later that day me and my uncle were talking about his father's health and he said 'really the problem is he just never took care of himself, he smokes, he drinks, he eats what he likes, and his body is paying for it' and while I'd heard that many times before it never quite hit so close to home as that day. When my great-uncle passed away in december after a very brief fight with pancreatic cancer (it's generally believed among the family that he just gave up) I decided I was going to do something about it, over the next month I lost maybe 5-6 pounds but it was 1/24 when I got serious about it.

Back in highschool I used to do alot of hiking, I was 280 in highschool but in better shape than I was in november on the hiking trip, the first hike I ever did was a 9.8 mile circle trail that covered two 4000+ foot mountain peaks. I swear I almost died

I'm going to do that hike again this weekend, I'm excited to see I well I do, and hopefully in the next 4-5 days I can drop another few pounds so i can hit the 250s before I go.

Good stuff! If you hit a plateau, remember to check your diet out, or increase your training intensity. Whatever you're doing, it's obviously working. Keep it up!

Yeah! that's awsome! I am working on getting my body back, I never was the athletic type but I didn't have any weight problems, now I do and getting in the habit has been torture... I am better now, able to run on the treadmill for a good amount of time, and I feel great leaving the gym knowing I kicked butt. I hope you reach and even pass your goal! Have a great workout and if you don't already listen to music while working out, it is so much more enjoyable.

I'm still waiting for vids of me working out (or doing anything really, grocery shopping, walking down the street, in the library, just wherever I can use headphones) as I lipsync and play airguitar WITH GUSTO. Have you ever seen a man fake screaming his lungs out to Bon Jovi's livin' on a prayer while running on a treadmill? It would blow your mind.

I lived a sedentary lifestyle last year (well thinking about it, it's actually for 5 years when I focused too much at works). I joined a volleyball league once a week and that was my only exercise (which was not enough) and everything else, I spent at work, burning endless midnight oils. When I got too tired, I ate tons of chocolates & coffee to cheer myself up and to boost my energy.

I lived like this for 4 - 5 years until one day, my mind & my body couldn't take it anymore. I got depressions and meltdown, couldn't get out of my bed and crying all days. I had to take off from work for 2 months to get well again. Hence my journey started. I started with treadmill and at home DVDs (cause obviously during this period, I didn't really want to see people other than my best friends & family). When I felt much stronger and my stamina improved, I signed up for crossfit & mixed martial arts. Things haven't been the same since then. Everything in life seems to get better as I gain my mental and my physical strength back (it's slowly though).

So yeah, I am proud to say that I'm back 100% now (or at least almost 100%). I am back to work, I still lead my project, and I am in the best shape of my life right now (and the surprising thing is that I feel that I haven't even reached my potential yet - like I'm stronger that I gave myself credit to).

Think about how fit/stronger you will become by living this lifestyle, the weight loss & great body will follow (I think) :).
