Maxxx
Ok so as the title says I am a 40 year old and believe it or not just now getting married for the first time (I should say only time) The wedding is all set for this July and I have the hoonymoon booked everything is set it is a destination wedding so the invitations are out. The issue... Here we are 3 months out and I am getting cold feet.......... Is this normal? I won't go in to allot of details although maybe I should but.... It is her second marriage and she has a child. In short there are going to be allot of big changes for me (I don't think so much for her) I get along fine with her child and we have even talked about me adopting once we are married because the child's father is pretty much not there anyway. I am just really starting to freak out I am going to be the one that moves out of my own home that I have had for over 10 years now...... To be with her. I have NEVER lived with anyone day to day other then a very few roommates years ago when I first bought my house. And more then likely with in the next year I am also looking at a job change for myself.... I am so scared that being single and on my own for such a long time that things are going to be very rough. One of the reasons I waited so long to get married is because I DID NOT want to make a mistake I hate divorce (other then in cases of infidelity or abuse) I can't stand it when I year people say "I just don't love him / her anymore" That's hogwash! "Till death do us part" means just that....... This is a once in a life time shot and I don't won't to screw it up
2sure
Just perfectly normal cold feet. You have the addition of a job hunt in your future, but I'm sure the two of you have considered that. 40 is a prefect age to get married. Especially to a woman with one child. You will have it all. You are ready. Love, Commitment, Family. Get a dog if you dont have one. 3 months. Just stay focused. You made the hard decision. Consider it made and enjoy yourself.
