This is old news Rooster, theyve discovered this huge boat stuck near the top of a mountain like a yr and a half ago. Late for the party.

Kappadokia has been a stomping ground for civilizations since time immemorial, more likely if the structure is a boat chances are it's a river barge, which would make sense since Ararat sits at the confluence of the Euphrates. To explain why the boat is there is simple, often times boats were made right at the source of available lumber, and then hauled down in several pieces from where it was built. Chances are the location wasn't right so they abandoned their project and rebuilt it elsewhere. There's your scientific answer and it only took me three minutes to burst your bubble.

I take faux news about as seriously as The Onion, I don't think Ive seen them report a grain of truth since their inception. They pander solely to the religious neo conservatives, and it makes their ability to convey the truth in any matter about as reliable as the Gestapo.

There was a big flood in the fertile crescent. It is not a huge surprise that a boat would be found considering how huge that flood was (and yes, to people of that time it would appear to have covered the entire world). Lots of cultures have flood myths as a result. Does this make it Noah's ark? No more so than any of the other arks described in other cultures.

Actually, some woods petrify before they rot. The Acadian Highlands in the Catskills boasts some of the oldest fossilized wood on earth.

 

Many Egyptian archeological sites contain wood that is far older than 4,000 years, but those are very arid, dry circumstances.

Hi CB...I thought I had heard that they "thought' it was at this location based on satellite views and Biblical accounts...although this is the first I've heard that is this definite. Also the Turkish government was not in cooperation concerning letting people in their country to investigate...so this is news to me...

Seriously people, history is clear that the world has experienced floods.

 

Aquatic fossils are often found in mountain tops. Jesus has nothing to do with it.

 

Unless the boat in question is humungous, how would it have fit every single species on earth with both male and female specimens.

 

How dumb are people that buy into this stuff???? Seriously - you have to be dumb.....

 

I find chocolate under my pillow after Easter every year- must be Jesus... lol.

So goodness knows why this is all being re-hashed and re-pumped now....

 

In 1977, a documentary called "In Search of Noah's Ark" aired on numerous television stations, claiming that the Ark had been found on Mt. Ararat; it was based on a book of the same title by David Balsiger and is taken seriously by some in the Ark-search community.

 

we saw this programme at school, during an RE lesson.

I Can't post a link because it's utterly splattered with commercial adverts.

But it's in a UK Commercial TV channel news archive section.

It's a hoax, big shock. Every group that ever went looking for the ark has found it lol.

 

It's pretty dumb to assume it exist considering the impossibility of a world wide flood among all the other problems the story doesn't address. Noah's story is just a retelling of the flood in the Epic of Gilgamesh (the ark was square in that one) done 1000 years earlier anyway.
