somedude81
I bench press 75 lbs (60% of body weight), deadlift 175 lbs (1.4 o f bodyweight), squat 170 lbs, and military press 58 lbs. I get lean but nowhere muscular, it is hard work and I already lift 2 or 3 times a week since February. I don't lose the hips, still look womanly and I have so many people told me that I will look like female arnold but so far, it's not happening at all. More so, the butt goes up and get round since I do powerlifting. I think I converted a few women already, 3 of my girl friends join crossfit because of me and they used to do Tracy Anderson (no more than 3 lbs dumbbell + 800 calories a day) and now they do all these 25 lbs kettlebells, 20 lbs wallball (including olympic powerlifting). To look like that, I would think you have to be in single digit bodyfat and probably don't eat carb at all. Typical female athlete (if I can call myself that ) is about 15% bodyfat and I think I'm between 15 - 20% which is good for normal healthy female. Dude you're awesome. I wish more girls trained like you. Your body is great too, toned and still feminine. Hell you train better than most men

alphamale
However, I cannot understand women who want a bodybuilding look. It seems to take away from their femininity big time. I am sure some take steriods to enhance their bodybuilding appearance and some are likely lesbians. Why would a heterosexual female want to look like a bodybuilder? i don't date any chicks that can beat me up
Author fantasy2000
i don't date any chicks that can beat me up Perhaps you like to feel in charge or think if she is too masculine it makes you feel .......well lets say not right about it. Like you are in a scene from the Crying Game I think as a man the worst thing to see is a woman who looks too masculine and I am going hmmmm could it be a man and am I attracted to her or not My heterosexual male brain starts getting mixed up. The Crying Game wow did that make a lot of men feel uncomfortable with their sexuality.
StandingO
If a women starts to get big arms, shoulders and chest muscles it is a sure sign they are on some kind of enhancement. I don't find those women attractive at all (find them gross). Women with some tone is another thing completely and that is very attractive. Just like too skinny is no longer attractive either. Women should strive to get toned but keep the feminine shape and look. Stay natural.

marsle85
Ah, it's how we classify the genders: men are strong, muscled and hard... women are weak, curvy and soft. Yet... working out is working out- men and women can both do it, and yet the proof is in the puddin' Why do we critisize women for being in shape? Because they're not following tradition, and what we want them to look like. Sure, I'm not into huge body builder guys either, but it's choice-- so be it. Likewise, women aren't only interested in appearing like many want them to... she prioritizes social pressures with her goals. I find it admirable, and rather courageous. I am a competitive swimmer, and while fortunately I'm built rather curvy, there are plenty of fellow swimmers with what you call "masculine" shoulders, legs, etc.

In_Repair
However, I don't think OP realizes that a vast majority of bodybuilders do not normally ever look like that day-to-day...they specifically prepare for events, competitions, photoshoots, etc., by reducing body fat to unhealthily low levels and getting a ridiculous temporary pump for the event...they maintain this look for perhaps hours...or possibly a day or two at a time...so what you see on the magazine covers is hardly what you'd see on any given day... True, very true. Some of them are so far gone(meaning muscled up) that they maintain a professional builders workout schedule, and they always look sort of "mannish". But amateur and beginner female bodybuilders, especially bulking... are F'in HOT when they aren't all pumped up. Fighters do the same thing. Light heavyweights who fight at 205lbs are usually much heavier in their day to day lives. You see them in street clothes a week or two after a fight and you are like WTF?
