Rorschach
Yeah I know right? Let that one sink in. Give it time. Alright got it? Moving on. I CAN COUNT MY RIBS. You may think thats nothing, but I was 300 pounds, 300 pound people cant even find any bones, let alone feel them clearly defined against their skin. It seems like my weight loss is actually speeding up to boot! I notice new things everyday about myself, I have next to no shoulder fat now, by which I mean I can both see clearly defined muscle and feel the collar bones. Make me want to go do some military presses to get that sexy rounded shoulder muscle thing going on.

TaraMaiden
And if your mom says "do you want some ice cream?" you reply, "Hell no! That stuff's poison to us lean, mean, honed and toned lovin' machines!" That should shut her up about the goddam ice cream!! (keep off the fries, too....! You're really doing great!) Author Rorschach
Thanks for the kind words guys, it keeps me going. I may as well post a question that just popped into my head here, rather than making a new thread. If on my current diet exercise regiment I've been losing weight fairly quickly, and building muscle mass, is it still possible that I'll get to a point where I can't lose those last few pounds and keep a tummy pooch or something? If a diet is working at 300 pounds, shouldn't it keep working at 210? I don't know I'm just asking. My stomach and love handles (while much smaller) are about the only area I look at and think 'yeah that still looks fat' I have a small amount on my upper arms, a small amount on my lower back (which is probably just an extension of the love handles!) and my legs are absolutely clean (little bit on the inner thigh, but thats normal), so while I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm worried that I won't lose it, but I would say it's sad to see it being so stubborn! Law of diminishing returns...as you get into better shape, it will get harder and take more time to notice any further progress...so you may notice that there's some areas where you still have that pooch that just won't go away...that's when you have to just take it to the next step in training and diet if you really want to get rid of it all... Since I saw that you play golf, it's analogous to high handicappers vs. low handicappers...it's MUCH easier to go from a 20 to 15 handicap as opposed to a 5 to 0 handicap...at the more advanced levels, it's almost a completely new ballgame... cuppa
Yay, congrats Rorschach!! I think just continue what you are doing and when you this the plateau, then change up your routine. I'm perpetually at the 5 lbs too heavy state so in my mind, losing the last 5 lbs is always the toughest.

Author Rorschach
So I'm curious, what kind of diet/workout regime did you go on to lose 90 pounds in (How long was it?) ... I've lost 50 pounds so far, I'm 252 right now (almost 240s!). I've been dieting since january 25th, I eat about 1680 calories a day, i try to stay under 100g of carbs, but other than that I just exercise portion control. I've been working out since February 25th or so, I started by going monday wednesday friday but I've worked that up to right now where I go 7 days a week. I don't have any really complicated work out regimen, I just do a good 30 minutes of high intensity cardio (I use a stairmaster) and then a weight regimen for whatever muscle group I'm doing that day. Initially when I started working out I stopped losing weight, partially due to my diet (I went about a month where I wasn't doing as well as I should have been), and partially due to the fact that muscle growth was off setting some of the fat I was losing as far as weight was concerned. Today though I still eat about 1680 calories a day, i workout each and every day and burn about 1000 calories in the workout (700-800 for half an hour on the stairmaster alone, then whatever the lifting weights burns) and I lose about 3-4 pounds a week, when I stay strict to my diet for the entire week, and 1-2 pounds a week when i don't. Diet and excersise, the classics never die.
