Author OWoman
I am happy that I am doing well. It has been a difficult few months, but I am coming out of it ok, and on my own. I have been strong my whole life, but now I am proving it moreso by doing it without leaning on anyone. And if I can do it, anyone can! I'm happy that my son feels more and more each day that we did completely the right thing in having our lovely dog (closest he had to a sibling) put to sleep last week. I am happy that WF and SG are feeling better, despite the trying times they've been through recently. I'm blessed to know (if only virtually!) strong, generous and impressive women like them and I'm happy to think of the wonderful life lessons they are passing on to their children, parenting up the next generation of wonderful people! I'm happy that my simnel cake turned out well, despite me never having encountered a real one before. I'm happy the sun is shining and the weather getting warmer and I'm happy I'll be exploring another bit of this soggy island on the weekend. Enjoy, everyone!
seren
OWoman and making Simnel cake in the same sentence? I am sorry, but found this surprising, don't know why, now if you had said Devil's Food Cake ..... (said tongue in cheek, promise). Glad everyone is moving onwards and upwards, it never does to stagnate, so hoorah for change and progress. H is out all day and evening at the mess for his leaving bash, I predict him falling through the door, winding the dogs up so they get all excited, being very sloppy and mushy to moi, asking for tea and toast then falling asleep on the chair until I gently nudge him up the stairs. I am so, so happy he will never, ever go to war type places again. I have a box of shoes to sort out and my craft room, I know I will end up trying on shoes I had forgotten about, admiring my lovely fabrics and then become distracted and just sling them all in a box. Shoes make me happy even though I cannot walk in most of them. I have decided to have a short haircut and introduce lighter tones, the HRT has royally screwed up my hair, I would love an uber short platinum job, but H loves the redheadedness, hmm, may compromise. My quince and rose petal jelly has turned out lovely, now to package and sell for wedding favours with some suitable romantic blurb for selling. Right, much as I love procrastination, I have wallowed in it enough - time to tackle the packing. Happy times all Seren x

Author OWoman
Husband coming back from business trip halfway around world he has been on since after the honeymoon today. (Stupid international economy. haha!) Enjoy, TinaniT!! I'm happy that we've had some garden weather, and that we'll have some more on our excursion. I'm happy that the house smells of spices and that supper will be tasty...
Silly_Girl
So Happy for all your Happy-ness!!! I'm happy that while I was off spoiling my best friend whose baby was due a week ago, my bf and son have been busy putting together the kitchen storage unit we bought today. And also put together the new petrol mower and cut the grass. The garden is quite large (and was a state!) so coming back to the smell of freshly-mown grass was a real treat. I love springtime! JadedAmore
One of my favorite threads. Tonight I'm happy, because I'm finding peace in the situation. Some nights are better than others, but tonight is a great night. That makes me happy.

I didn't realize for 3 years how UNHAPPY I had become. I am happy that I no longer wait for him to have free time. I am happy that I no longer have to arrange my life around him. I am happy that I have met a gentle honest caring man and we are building a relationship slowly and carefully. I am happy that I have been MM fre for a long time. It's like hitting your head against that brick wall.... feels so much better when the concussion goes away and you are conscious again. Cheers

I am sorry, but found this surprising, don't know why, now if you had said Devil's Food Cake ..... (said tongue in cheek, promise). It's OK, I put on extra disciples. I wanted my cake to look nice and symmetrical, so it landed up with 13 instead of 11 I'm happy we had such a successful trip to Oxford, and such nice weather!
donnamaybe
So happy my man and I found the perfect curtains to accentuate the lovely living room we put together. LOVED the lovemaking on our lazy Sunday morning together. Really happy walking our property together over the weekend, making plans for our garden, new layout of the drive and yard, etc. And another thing I recalled - the critters are all coming back to life now that spring is here! I can hear bitterns, loons, geese, and soon the spring peepers will be peepin'! Edited April 11, 2011 by donnamaybe

Got it
I am happy for the very superb baby shower I threw this weekend and was able to spoil the mom to be royally, just like she deserves! I am happy today that my guy comes home in a couple days from his trip and he is enjoying the weather where he is at while on business. I am happy that we are FINALLY moving on a major work implementation and I have the most fantastic team on it. I am happy that I just baked up a yummy batch of apple cinnamon muffins and they hit the spot. And I am happy for all the HOWs out there.
seren
Glad OWoman had a fab day in Oxford, I too was strolling around, weird we might have passed each other by. Beautiful city, I prefer it to London as there is so much to see in such a small space. Oxford and it's history always makes me happy. Oh and was the 13th little marzipan ball on the cake for Mary Magdalen? Hope so. Poor hubby has sciatica, we are like a pair of old cronky things, I massage his back, he massages mine, living on the edge (not). But it means we get to lie in longer as he cannot go for his early run, so lots of gentle snuggly time. I have a hair appointment tomorrow at a lovely ohh la la salon, total restyle, maybe recolour so am breaking out my lovely (I call it) Jackie O dress, cream lace top, blue grossgrain waistband, black skirt all in a lovely shift style. I refuse to sit there looking like a bag lady, dressing up always makes me happy. Our son comes home this weekend to help the olds with packing, we are pushing him up the attic, hope there isn't too much there. Off for dinner Sunday night, us three and my friend her husband and their two children for an all you can eat Chinese buffet. Lovely times ahead. Almost bluebell time, I love, love bluebells the Oxford countryside is beautiful in the spring all soft and blowsy, full of flowers and greenery and all things cute and springy, like lambs and chicks ..... I am getting soft in my old age, time for a lie down. Happy Times All. Seren xx

Beautiful city, I prefer it to London as there is so much to see in such a small space. Oxford and it's history always makes me happy. Oh and was the 13th little marzipan ball on the cake for Mary Magdalen? Hope so. I put 12 balls around the edge, and one in the middle, because it looked more symmetrical that way. I didn't realise at the time there were supposed to be 11 because they represented the disciples excluding Judas Iscariot. In retrospect though, I'd probably put more on because I really like marzipan Oxford is very pretty in the sunshine. We caught the end of the Literary Festival and wrote little stories for free Gin & Tonics from the Hendricks stall, which on top of the double chocolate stout I'd had earlier, and the balmy weather, made lazing about on the river bank very attractive... I found it very like the university town I'd studied in as an undergraduate (but on a bigger scale). Stepson now deciding whether or not he can see himself there next year as a student, though we're encouraging him to explore all of his options first before making a final decision. seren
I am surrounded by boxes and dogs, we are all vying for space at the moment, almost finished packing so happy about that! have packed most of my pans, so having to eat out, now that makes me happy, muchly. I inherited my MIL's jewelrey, chose to have the gold chains I won't wear melted down and made into a pinky ring for H with Prince of Wales feathers on it, it is lovely and he is so, so chuffed. H being happy makes me happy too. There is a plus side to the horrible muscle spasms I have, I have abs of steel, well under my voluptuousness, now to lose the voluptousness. We have to temporarily move into a different house until the lovely house is sorted, quite excited at moving into somewhere different for a wee while, tis an old farmhouse very pretty, but not able to open boxes for a few months. This will give lots of time for doing nothing, sloth makes me happy, for a little while at least. Kurt Geiger have a shoe sale, happy, happy days. datura_noir
I've no idea about England or Britain at this moment, but I want to ask-has the royal upcoming wedding had as much as an effect in the UK as we here in the US are led to beleive? I really am disheartened to know that the baby prince (whom I saw as a newborn via news) has become a bridegroom!!! He was a baby!! I feel so old!

Silly_Girl
We are about to start the second in 4 consecutive long weekends together. One on our own, three with my lad. Lots of lovely plans. And hopefully lots of lovely weather!!!!! Best wishes to all!
donnamaybe
I was incredibly tired at work all day yesterday, having had to get up at 12:15 a.m. and run 20 minutes into town and pick up my son from a band obligation and bring him home. I then couldn't fall asleep for probably 2 hours, and I'm up at 5:30. Needless to say, I was absolutely wiped out. When I got home, my sweety (on his only day off) had cleaned the whole house and had dinner ready and his cooking dishes already washed.

We live on the boundary of three different counties, so tend to get newsletters from all of them. One of them announced only one street closure for a street party to celebrate (a vicar!) and one of the others (that we technically fall under) announced rather sadly that there hadn't been a single application for a street party. The other newsletter didn't even mention it... IME, some old people and some shops aimed at tourists are the only ones who have even registered that anything is happening. Most people are closet republicans (though they're waiting for Liz to cark it before they say so, too loudly, out of personal respect for her) especially given what utter twats most of the royals are. seren
I and a few others are planning an afternoon tea, old style, for the children in our street, complete with bunting, egg and spoon races et al for the wedding. We have decided to dress up and watch the wedding in the morning and in the afternoon indulge with champagne, jelly etc and make a fun day of it. It is an excuse for a get together, nice to nosey at the frocks and such and I hope all goes well ... but that's about it really. My son is working as he is London policeman, he is chuffed at the overtime. I think it will ramp up nearer the day and much panic because no one has bothered. Ms Middleton has been rather kept under wraps so not so much hysteria (thank lord) as the Diana debacle. Son and hubby enjoying a few beers, much laughing from the garden, time to join them ... I love my men happy, makes me happy too. Have a lovely weekend all xx Seren
Silly_Girl
I am ssoooooo happy that my best friend has given birth to a beautiful baby boy and despite 8.5 mths of panicking and worrying about labour, and the pain, (despite this being her third) his arrival was mercifully quick and eventless. Wonderful news. Am so happy for the whole family
silktricks
I am happy to be alive, as for awhile it looked a bit questionable. I am happy my hubby found me some great doctors and stayed by my side the whole time (well, while he was allowed). I am happy to be looking at some truly beautiful flowers he brought me, and I am happy to have health insurance as otherwise I would be decidedly UNhappy. I'm happy to have a tablet I can use while not too mobile, yet. I am happy that I don't have to have more surgery for awhile.
