Author Star Gazer
It doesn't matter what was said, it doesn't matter whose fault it is, it doesn't matter who benefits the most, it doesn't matter what your deep down motivation may be. You miss your old friend? You want her back? Give her a call, say Hi, sorry, I miss you, fancy catching up sometime? Life is short, friends are precious, why wait? This makes me want to call her right now... Or is it ? I have another friend who recently reached out to me via FB... She was my best friend from 11-17 (we were almost neighbors), and then she betrayed me in a horrible, horrible way. I hadn't spoken to her since, had even refused her repeated efforts to apologize in my early 20's when she tried seeing me at my mom's house. She's acting like that betrayal never occurred, and like we're BFFs just as we were 15+ years ago. For weeks after accepting her friend request, this irked me. I wanted to say to her, "Do you know what you did, how you made me feel? I can't just pretend like it didn't happen!!!!" But I've waited... and have come to realize that she does know (hence the attempts to apologize), and that it wouldn't do either one of us any bit of good to dredge that stuff up.
