moimeme
I'm an 'only'. I think it had the reverse effect on me; I enjoy company and closeness and don't mind people in my 'space'.
Guest
Privacy is an important thing, but where the internet is concerned, there is no such thing. Too many people have a need to place thier lives on display online. Take this board for example, its a public message base accesible to ANYONE. We all remember the Vixen case....I remember it well.....I was the Coworker! Yes its me, Mr X as I saw myself referred to. Shame on me, I've been snooping! I had to agree on everything you guys said. I was set up, and the point of there being no privacy on the internet was proven. Mr X
moimeme
Yes, but you have to admit that it's a little easier to be private if you don't tell people your username, the name of the forum, and post your photo!
Guest
Yes, I HAD noticed she was posting initiallly with her own photo attached, but then changed it. Actually I've seen others on here in different areas do the same thing. BTW: for those who missed it here is the drama I'm reffering to: http://www.loveshack.org/forums/t30593/ Its a facinating read. And if everyone would like to know, I am no longer with her. Mr X
meanon
Hah! Ain't that the truth. I am sure I would never have had children had I realised what I was in for in this department! I bet we could swap some hair-raising stories! So cdn, we already know our children share a total disregard for privacy in the bathroom (no let's not go there again). What's the next worst bit? I'd say - attempting to undress you in public. You?
moimeme
Its a facinating read I think I'd substitute 'frustrating' for 'fascinating'. So did you feel like a 'case' that was being worked on? It must have been disheartening to hear yourself described as you were!
Guest
Looking back on it, I think being a 'case' was exactly what I was. I also liked 'Lab rat' it was fitting. Durring the course of that thread I was made to look rather pathetic because of my lack of 'experience' I don't see it that way. I had other priorities, I couldn't be bothered with a girl friend. I was happy, or atleast I thought I was. I am now trying find that someone to share my life with, and this time I won't be the 'lab rat' Mr X

Interesting that you say that Merry...I'm an "only" too, and I love my own space and alone time, and feel very anxious when at large family gatherings with my partner and his siblings/family and so on. I also tend not to socialise with big groups, and prefer just one or two close friends. I wonder how much is due to being an "only" and how much is just personality type.
