NoLongerSad
Not all educations are equal, and all students are likewise, shall we say, individuals. Add to that some of the goofy things people can get 'degrees' in and well, anything can happen. That's neither here nor there, just sort of interesting as the source of several diversions in this thread. Fundamentally I agree with him, slim women look better and although I recognize from my travels that it's partly conditioning, to deny that the Western world is conquering the rest of the world culturally would be a joke. Green's point is that it doesn't matter whether or not you (or anyone else) agrees with him. It is what it is. It's not just a matter of personal preference. There are a couple of women on here who say they are overweight. Can any of them honestly say they wouldn't feel better about their appearance if they lost some of it? NoLongerSad
I prefer women with more on them, not skinny girls. Just me though. Well then you're a lucky man because in our society you have plenty to choose from.
theBrokenMuse
A big part of what I like about my gf are the foods and resteraunts we like to go to. Like Fridays, chilis, applebees ect are examples of a places I would never freely choose to go.. carabas is an edible chain to go to on the other hand... olive garden not so much. I don't eat out often but when I do I'd rather have Japanese or Korean then eat at those popular chains like Chillis, Ruby Tuesdays, or Applebees. Not to mention I've known people who've worked at those places and they are even more fattening than any fast food joint.... May as well put a stick of butter in a bun and call it a day. 112233
Green's point is .... Given your track record thus far on reading comprehension, what makes you believe you can reliably translate what another poster is saying for the rest of the community?
theBrokenMuse
C'mon you can't seriously be suggesting that you wouldn't feel better about your appearance if you lost some weight, can you? I honestly don't really feel 'bad' to begin with. I've already done the whole weight loss thing before and to be honest outside of the external validation I got from others it didn't really do anything for me happiness wise. I've gotten to the point where I just exercise because I enjoy it, try to eat foods that aren't horrible for me and go on with enjoying my life without letting such things preoccupy me too much. Engadget
Well then you're a lucky man because in our society you have plenty to choose from. Yeah pretty much. Scrawny girls are loved by society and it baffles me.

NoLongerSad
I have heard of Marilyn Monroe being considered fat. Do you think the men she could have eating from the palm of her hand cared about what others thought of their taste? I couldn't care less about Marilyn Monroe. My question was, "Do the women who consider themselves overweight disagree with the proposition that they would feel more attractive if they lost some of the excess weight?" A very simple question. NoLongerSad
Given your track record thus far on reading comprehension, what makes you believe you can reliably translate what another poster is saying for the rest of the community? Dude I asked you politely to stop being a douchebag. I'm entitled to state my opinion and if Green thinks I'm wrong he'll let us know.
112233
Dude I asked you politely to stop being a douchebag. I'm quite certain calling someone a douchebag is in fact never polite. I guess that's a Trifecta (so far), well done?
Metoo33
I prefer the way skinny women look. I think they have more distinguished curves and a better body/face. Mme. Chaucer
Not to toot my own horn, but I'm highly educated. I also possess an ability to read and write on a level higher than the people complaining. My bad spelling and grammar on LS are due to the FACT I don’t care and neither do a lot of people. It’s silly to worry about ever ones spelling on a forum such as this. Furthermore you will find a lot of highly educated people carelessly misspell things or use improper grammar because we just don't care and usually have some one else (secretary/assistant ect) do our spell checking/cite checking/grammar checking. You're becoming less and less credible with each post, Green. And coming off less and less like a grown up man. In fact, the FACT is that well educated people automatically spell correctly as well as write proper sentences; those are by-products of their good education. People don't write well because they are "worried" about "ever ones" opinion. It's just part of a well educated person. I am not going to look back months and months, but I remember reading a post of yours a long time ago where you claimed that successful people didn't have to read or write well; they had their secretaries for that. I laughed. Green, that really reminds me of some lame thing a kid will say to his mommy who is nagging him to do his homework - a little kid who has no idea about the requirements for success in the real world. Clearly, there is the odd savant who is so amazing at what they do that they bypassed all the basics. You are not that person. Again, your presumption that you "possess an ability to read and write on a higher level than the people complaining" makes me chuckle. Little boy, nobody who possesses the ability to write well actually writes like a 6th grader. Just does NOT happen. And the presumption that you KNOW what others' abilities are goes hand in hand with your presumption that there is something wrong with people who like what you don't - unskinny women. You present yourself very precisely like a young guy, maybe in middle or early high school, who has internalized every message flung his way via television, Maxim, and other media, and who absolutely defines himself through that filter without questioning it at all. It would be interested to hear how you deal with life as you grow up and become an adult man. You might be in for some tough lessons.
NoLongerSad
Green, don't let the haters and trolls get you down. You're 100% correct, the haters just don't want to admit to the obvious--most men like hot women, not obese women. Gee I wonder how many of these ladies hating on you are fatties themselves? Lord knows what's going through the mens' minds who are hating on you.
NoLongerSad
You are a tool. He's a tool because he likes sexy women? Why don't you respect and appreciate sexy women?
112233
He's a tool because he likes sexy women? Why don't you respect and appreciate sexy women? Delete respect (that's a separate issue) and I have to finally agree with you.
NoLongerSad
Delete respect (that's a separate issue) and I have to finally agree with you. Now why is it that you would lack respect for sexy women? This whole thread seems to be about people who are jealous of sexy women, or who resent sexy women because the sexy women might be out of their league.

112233
Now why is it that you would lack respect for sexy women? Well that's four. At what point can I just say 'obtuse'? I said it's a separate issue, just being pretty doesn't alter my level of respect. Respect is separate from looks. It's a different thing. One does not change the other. They are independent of each other.

Mme. Chaucer
Green, don't let the haters and trolls get you down. TROLL? Who are you calling trolls, mr. brand new member with 31 posts on your first day here on LS? Oh ... wait. I recognize you now. Why the frequent name changes, sir? Gee I wonder how many of these ladies hating on you are fatties themselves? Lord knows what's going through the mens' minds who are hating on you. I can speak only for myself - I am quite slender and fit, but I have a quality that's even more revolting to the Greenboyz of the world than lard-a-plenty ... AGE! Yes, I am an OLD broad! Fortunately for me, I have somehow managed to be in a relationship where both parties involved find sexiness (and love) with one another through different avenues than simply body shape. Isn't that gross?

welikeincrowds
This thread reminds me of The Sense of Beauty. Because if only everyone had just read it, this thread wouldn't exist. When our senses and imagination find what they crave, when the world so shapes itself or so moulds the mind that the correspondence between them is perfect, then perception is pleasure, and existence needs no apology. Read it, will you?

Mad Max
Maybe in 20 years what the TV sees as beauty will change. Who knows. Maybe guys with a beer belly will be the hot new thing, here comes green; " I have a huge beer belly!" But then about 2/3 of the population will be considered beautiful. AverageJoe
Yes, I have to agree with you. I also believe green to be a young teenager. Clearly, he watches too much TV. I wonder what would have happened if he had been alive during Carl Sagan's TV show; would green eventually come up here and claim to have Sagan's education? Because Sagan's show was so admired? Another thing that surprises is(don't know if he did say this and I'm not going to read his previous posts) is how quick he changes his own appearance; first he was much above the 6 feet mark, now he's only 6'2''. Green Latern, buddy, 2 inches is not "much more than 6 feet". Maybe in 20 years what the TV sees as beauty will change. Who knows. Maybe guys with a beer belly will be the hot new thing, here comes green; " I have a huge beer belly!" Speaking of TV shows. Ever seen that episode of South Park, the world of warcraft one? Season ten, episode eight. For some reason you remind me of the female (if in fact that is what you are) version of Cartman in that episode. Classic, I highly recommend it. I give everyone the benefit of doubt, but I am seriously entertaining the idea that you are just bat**** crazy.
