a book about wifes trapped in their marriages

Recommended Posts

hello, nice to meet you my friend,

I'm planning on becoming a writer soon and i want to write about women who feel trapped in their marriages, because as you may know, not all marriages are perfect.

my back summary would be:

Are you a wife who feels like she's in a long distance relationship, unable to talk or become intimate with your husband, even though your living under the same roof as him- but there's someone else, the man whom you think would feed your sensual desires-well this is the life for sally (character)

or are you a wife who is trapped by overwhelming feelings?, you have overwhelming feelings for another man, even though your husband and your beloved children are near perfect-this is practically jeans life story

or quite simply, are you a dedicated wife who loves her husband with all her heart, but always feels threatened by women who want your husband for his money and to have a night in bed with him?- this is an everyday experience for judith

: can you please give me your opinion on what you think of a book like this?

as well as how well you think the book would sell?

and if you have any other ideas for the characters and their lives, like their situations with their husbands or you can do a vice-versa situation, thank you for your help

nobody is trapped in their marriage.

they can get an attorney and get a divorce anytime they want.

and by the way, when you cheat on your spouse, you cheat on your kids too.

I'm not really sure it'll be a good seller, even if set in the 1950s. But...

You can also do an alcoholic/gambling/violent spouse; Spouse with chronic, debilitating illness or disability; In-laws from hell; Child with chronic, debilitating illness or disability; Spouse who consistently lives well above the family's means -- maybe the other spouse is forced into prostitution or something like that; Spouse lost at sea (or some other adventure) and presumed dead resurfaces 10 years later and finds "surviving" spouse married to someone else -- but still in love with "deceased" spouse.

Er...I think that exhausts my mind of all potential "marriage traps" -- at least now I'm clearer on some of the 'red flags' to watch out for :lmao:

Before you get all wrapped up and invested in your characters, though, you might want to check a book like "Putting Your Passion Into Print" or something similar.

Capital letters are normally used to begin a sentence. Also, the plural of wife is "wives"...the title was catchy otherwise though. Also, be careful overusing fragments instead of complete sentences.

I have an idea...instead of being set in the 1950s, you could set this in a cult/religion theme. You know, bunch of women all married to one guy who's the head of their cult?

And they all feel trapped for all the different reasons you and others have mentioned? :D :D :D

Don't forget to include one woman who becomes addicted to online chatting and webcams.

Maybe make the cult leader an SA addict as well as being a drunk and emotionally neglectful, as well as working all hours to maintain his cult? Oooh...and of course he'd be bipolar and NPD as well. Oh yeah...and he's "let himself go", now being overweight and physically unattractive to his wives as well.

Let's see...what have I missed....

or a husband who finds out 30 yrs later that he is the real father of his son ... ?

or a wife who is torn weather to pay $1 as ransom to rescue her husband from kidnappers ..... ?

I think it's a TOS violation 2 plug a book on the forums.

You don't seem literate enough 2 be an author, sorry.
