Self esteem problems when dating

Hello all,

Just wondering what people do, when it comes to increasing self esteem. I met someone online a few weeks ago. When we 1st started chatting, she was evaisive and told me little about her. I never pressure people in to telling me anything, when they want to they will.

Anyway, we have chatted online a few times and I tend to be nervous around women. This particular girl seemed so closed off, I almost instantly took it as not interested. After a few chats she became more open, but I was still nervous. I had the bonus of her not being able to see me.

I noticed she took a lot of pictures with a webcam and she was very attractive. I asked her if she wanted to view each other as I had one too. After we turned our cams on I started making horrible typos and she said I was typing horrible that night. Then as the conversation kept going she asked "whats wrong with you?....are you nervous?" I told her I was, she was nice about it and kept saying, come on just breathe and relax. Still I had such a concern about my look(not that I am ugly) it made it difficult to have a conversation lol

Another question I have is that I think she is really attractive and want to convey interest in dating potential. I am usually the type to not say anything, and either the person never realizes or or just considers me a friend only. Now we have been chatting a week or so, hasn't elevated to phone and who knows if she will bring it to that level. I have already told her she is attractive as an off hand comment(she seems a bit on the lower self esteem boat too, she hasn't really expressed much interest in that sense. Regardless, should I pose this question and just get an answer so I don't string myself along while all along she has no interest?

Absolutely. Don't ask her for an evening date; ask to meet her someplace for coffee. Definitely go for it.

Of course you should - once you get over the initial worry of asking her on a first date, it'll flow much easier!

Good luck! ;)
