You know, "what if that didn't happen like that and what if it went like this." Because we had or have strong feelings about some people, and we might think to far in advance with the relationship. Like the song "Castles in the Sky" if you havent heard you should try and find it! I also beleive that it is mostly people like you and I that are a little more creative than the norm and have great imaginations that go through this enough for us to ask ourselves the question you asked. When you split up, despite how rotten the circumstances may be, you are always going to wonder "What if this happened...would things be better now?"
