4 Months Away and Absolutely in Love

My boyfriend and are positively head over heels in love-- we've been dating for almost five months and it was apparent to both of us that what we have is not common and have also talked about bigger plans in the future. We both attend the same college, so he's usually been very close to me, except for now, in the summer, when we both go home and are about an hour apart. So overall, it's not very difficult as far as distance goes, to sustain the relationship. About a month ago, he told me that he was interested in studying abroad in England for this upcoming spring semester, and it would be roughly around 4 months away. He's already planned to have me come out to see him over our mutual spring break, which I found exciting and quite a relief, however I've been away from him before for a couple of weeks at a time without seeing him, and even found that hard because of how emotionally close we are. I KNOW I don't want to break up with him-- so that isn't even an option. We are too perfect to throw this away, no matter what the circumstances, and he has expressed that as well. How do I go about coping with this and if anyone could give me some advice, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Frankly, the first advice that popped up in my mind was for you to read the threads of the people who have been in it for years and years, and thank the heavens above that it's only 4 months. ;)

Other than that, the standard rules such as keeping yourself busy, making friends etc etc applies. :)

Yes, I agree with Elswyth. Four months will fly by (especially with a holiday in between!). Make sure you keep in contact daily by phone, skype and text and you guys will be just fine. :)

Thank you for your advice! I appreciate it. It'll be hard, but I guess you're right; it could always be worse!
