emilyinla
I admit that I was obsession over this guy whom I thought he was married. Turned out that they just live together and have two children together but never married. And now they are in an open relationship (the guy has had multiplied relationships with different women). It was 5 years ago, first coupe years, after my demanding of confrontation and his partner calling the police on me. I was hurt but couldn't believe he could actually did that to me. Like most broken heart women in denial, I found every excuse to forgive him and every little clue and hint to prove and lie to myself that he's still loving me if not for his sons. Hence, I did went back to a place where he's there regularly and just look at him without his notice whenever I missed him (I was still in love with him but accepted it was over). Not very often, probably, once or twice a year! I haven't done it for more than two years! Other than having the desire to see him every once or twice a year , I never did that none-stop calling and texting stalking things. In fact, I only called him twice after I left. NC after they called the cops on me! My question is my kind of behavior has been accused as stalking and harassing in US. But it was quite normal and people doing it all the time where I'm from , as long as nobody get hurt. Really? Americans, normal ones, can really let their exes go like that? If any one went back just take a gland of their exes every once a while without bothering anybody would be considered stalking? P.S. I asked the same quest on the other message board, I got this rather accusing than answer: "Yes, really. You clearly state you go to places and spy on him without his knowing, that is stalking. Definition-Stalking can be defined as the willful and repeated following, watching, and / or harassing of another person. Most of the time, the purpose of stalking is to attempt to force a relationship with someone who is unwilling or otherwise unavailable". But all the conditions he mentioned did not fit in my thought or behavior at all. I didn't follow nor harass him , not to mention attempting to force a relationship with him! The answer is still quite harsh on me! Normal Americans have never went back to see your ex once a while in your entire life? How could it be?
