SummerLady
I eat most of my food by 3pm. I get up at 530 am have a small breakfast, lunch around 11 and dinner by 3pm. I am not real hungry after 4 anyways. Is this an issue. I would assume not but wanted feedback. I work out at 1pm most days. I don't eat dinner with the family as they eat 630pm, that is too late for me. I will just sit there and sip on some water...

I hope it not because you heard that eating at night goes straight to fat, for the is simple a myth. Your going from 3pm to 5 in the morning without anything. That is 14 hours. Try going 14 hours while your awake without eating and see how you feel. Just because your sleeping through most of the time, the same stress is being place on your body. Likely your slowing down your metabolism, for your body feels like it is being starved most of the day. Eat a little less at lunch, eat a little less at 3pm and then have an appropriate meal with the family. Not only with it be better for you, you will actually get to participate with the family at meal time. which I bet will be more enjoyable for everyone.
USMCHokie
I agree with GC. You are definitely doing a bad thing for your body by not eating after 3 PM.

As long as you get the required vitamins and minerals from the foods you eat you sound like you're really on a winning schedule to achieve an ideal weight if your looking to lose. But if you are already ideal or underweight you could be bordering on anorexia because there's no need to be so restrictive. You will eventually waste way unless of course your meals are loaded with calories and fat. I worked with a dietitian last year and she explained a lot about what to eat and in what order. I lost a lot of weight and was also able to become more muscular up top. Her main thing was protein and eating all your protein first. This is toughest to digest and revs up your metabolism. Your plants and starches should be eaten afterward and the net result is that this "order" will reduce your onset of hunger pangs. Ideally though dietitians seem to favor five small meals rather than than three. I feel if I were in perfect shape I might be able to do that but I'm overweight and five meals is just toying with disaster. I can't do that. I just eat two. But I drink a protein powder mix and drink it toward the end of my work out. I'm rarely seriously hungry and have trained my mind to see food as functional and not a matter of random pleasures of the moment. Like they say in Weight Watchers: "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail". Best of luck.

Do you have to get up at that time or do you naturally wake then? I don't think it's a problem if you are healthy. It probably suits your type of metabolism. If you are using energy from 5.30 am you need to stoke up earlier in the day. According to Metabolic Typing studies slow metabolizers rarely feel very hungry but need to eat before they get very hungry or they never catch up. Have you tried eating some fruit in the evening when the rest of your family eat? It's easily digested. Sandy

By dinner I am slowing down and not real hungry. Lunch is my biggest meal I think. I should eat more fruit in general. But I also find that when I eat less after 3pm I lose more.. I don't do much activity after 4 or 5. That is my downtime.
marsle85
I used to wake up at 4:30 every morning for practice, then classes all day. I was home by 8pm. I dropped a considerable amount of weight- because of the work outs, but I think waking up earlier had a huge function in the process.
