Poll: Bachelorette attire

Recommended Posts

Why isn't everyone allowed to wear their own outfit?

Put me in a gang tee-shirt if I'm at a picnic and in a tug-of-war competition.

Otherwise, if you expect me to show up for dinner and clubbing, I'm sure as hell wearing my own clothes, and not looking to match.

What are we, 12?

I've never even heard of this custom before, and I have organized two bachelorette parties as well as had a bachelorette evening of my own. Maybe it's a local culture thing.

Anyway, if a good friend asked me to wear a matching outfit for her party I'd do it, but I'd be kind of forcing myself to be good-natured about it, personally. It's not a custom I'm familiar with and I'd find it kind of strange that the bride sought to control more than just 'her' special day.

However--since your friend who is stirring the pot in this situation also made everyone wear theme outfits to her own previous party, if I read that correctly, she really has no leg to stand on and should just keep her mouth shut and wear what you ask her to and stop acting like a primadonna about it.

What? How is that helpful...

I was pretty much joking; but truly, if I were going to require matching attire for my bachelorette party, I would make it something most memorable and off the wall.

I, too, have never heard of this new "custom." Do guys also now wear matchy -matchy outfits to their bachelor parties? Cute!

Also, in my experience, the bride did not have that much to do with the bachelorette party (which is a new concept altogether); it was planned by her wedding party and she basically was the feted guest. Is this different now?

I have never heard of this either.

But since you did it for her at her bachlorette. She needs to suck it up and do it for you. But I would have your MOH handle it.
