Post BreakUp Dating

Recommended Posts

My most recent ex Broke up with me 8 months ago. Recently I started dating this new girl who seems to have all the qualities I want in a person. Now things are starting to move in the direction of an actual relationship and I'm starting to get cold feet.

I don't know if this is normal. I don't want my ex back but I don't feel like I have that same draw to this girl like I did when I dated my ex. Maybe I still do have feelings for her? Shouldn't I be over this after 8 months? Should I just pursue this anyway and see if my heart goes for it... Ugh so confused. This new girl like I said has every single quality I'd want in a person and I don't want to pass that up.

It's funny when I was nothing but single all I wanted was someone, now that theirs a chance I don't want anyone. Seriously messed up of me I know...

Hey, none of this is easy unfortunately...if I were you I'd take a break, it sounds like too much pressure right now. Most of the time when a person is really in love and it is being reciprcated also, nothing holds back the two people...fairy tale type response...I know, although I believe in fairy tales:)...hey good luck....hugs....

It happened to me as well. After my ex, I met someone who was the perfect man for me. I wanted to fall in love with him SO badly... but it just didn't happen after trying for half a year.

You could just be hurt from your last relationship and sabotaging the new one to avoid getting hurt again.

It's also possible that the feelings might come with time, given that she is what you want in a person. It's definitely worth a try. That's what dating is all about isn't it?

But either way, don't dismiss the feeling! Ultimately, that... "draw" has to be there. Otherwise, you're just making a rational choice to be with her. That's not how love works.
