I need LDR advice

I am currently in a long distance relationship. We are 22 and have known each other since we were 15. My boyfriend of 2 months, but best friend of 8 years, left the other day for college. He is currently 90 miles away from me. We are only going to see each other every 3 weeks when he comes home for Air Force Drills. I am really missing him and wish he was here. We hope to make this relationship last. Can anyone give me advice about it?

hey, im in an ldr with my bf... we're both at uni, and being apart is just... so awful, but the one thing you must remember is that if you werent together at all it'd be infinitely worse. Advice...?

 

well first off i think communication is a must. we talk online a lot, but be careful cause what you say online can be misinterpreted, so try to talk on the phone every once in a while. Letters are a great thing to recieve and to send out. In my opiniont, they';re so much nicer to receive than emails. Oooh We got a webcam 4 months into the LDR and it has made soo much difference!! Its so much nicer to be able to see each other as we talk!! (invest in a GOOD webcam, trust me, its worth it.) If you can get a microphone it's cheaper than talking on the phone as when you talk it costs a grand total of 0$.

 

Apart from that... try not to go completely insane. You're up for a really hard time, but if you trust each other and love each other than you'll be fine.

Thanks for the advice. Though I wrote this months ago. My boyfriend and I are a week or so away from being 7 months. We talk all the time and see each other as much as we can now. He is home for the summer, but we both have summer jobs.....so we only see on weekends or whenever we can fit it in. In all, it has beein going really well.
