BlackLovely
I am often told that I'm too hard on myself. This has occured both in my personal and professional life. I rarely give myself a chance to make mistakes when I'm learning something new; I get very angry and frustrated with myself. I often feel that if I cannot to something exceptionally well, I should not do it. I need suggestions on how to stop this self destructive pattern.
Ruby Slippers
I'm the same way. Very hard driving and only satisfied with the absolute best performance from myself. I am very patient with my friends and other people, but often not very compassionate with myself. The advice my counselor gave me is to look at myself from outside, as I would look at a friend, and be curious and compassionate about what I'm going through. Sometimes it helps. But for me, it's a constant struggle. I'm working on it.
