Cora
I guess it all started a few months ago. My stomach would just start hurting out of nowhere. It was in the upper part of my stomach....mostly on the right side. It would usually wake me up at night and would last anywhere from fifteen minutes to a couple of hours. Sometimes it could be very severe, but I noticed if I drink a lot of water the pain subsides. It always comes back later though. Also, if I eat anything I get terrible pain. I usually try to hold off till the last possible second when I am starving to eat because I know it's gonna start hurting again. This pain went away for a couple of months and I thought I was rid of it for good! But grr it's back again and worse than ever! Still waking me up at night and hurting right after I eat. Sometimes the water helps and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes I can just be sitting at work and the pain comes out of nowhere and I'm sitting there all hunched over until it eases. My co-worker said it sounds like my gallbladder because she had the same symptoms and ended up having to have her gallbladder removed completely. Hers got so bad though that she couldn't even stand up. My question is, does this sound like my gallbladder or something else? Also, what can I do to prevent/ease/get rid of the pain altogether? Any kinds of foods I can eat more of to not bring on the pain? Any natural ways of getting rid of this? Anything? My last resort is the doc of course, but just was curious if anyone knew of anything to help with this pain? I'm getting pretty desperate now and a little scared.

TaraMaiden
My guess is you're asking the wrong people. "A few months ago"...? Go See A DOCTOR!!! If this is gallstones, it's treatable. If it's anything else - good grief, I'd have had the pain a few DAYS and gone to see a doctor!! Go now!!! This is insane....!
primed7
Hi there, The pain you describe could be anything ranging from your gallbladder (stones mainly), the liver is around the same area and of course it could be your gut. I can't tell you what you could do to relieve the pain but I do think you should see a doctor. All you'll probably need is an ultrasound scan and a blood test to find out what is going and take it from there. It shouldn't have to be the last resort... cheers
hopesndreams
Sounds like a stomach ulcer. Get H. pylori testing done. It can easily be treated within a couple of weeks with antibiotics and medication to decrease the production of stomach acid.
