Vampires, Victims and Sex Maniacs

Recommended Posts

I am reading some literature at work, and the title of a press release says "When -Men are from Mars, Women are From Venus-Doesn't work!".

It's actually promoting a new relationship book (and no mods, I have no commercial interest in promoting this book whatsoever, I am posting this out of interest only) in which the Australian author divides people into three relationship types:

A sex maniac- someone needing to feel sexual pleasure to feel loved..a reactive person, with a focus on survival, lives in the present, sometimes aggressive...little guilt over sex outside relationship...do not feel jealous

A victim-needs to feel worthy to feel loved- see life as a place full of controlling people or those out to get them...life seems unfair, sometimes hopeless...often have health issues...look to others for direction...often attract people who victimise them and confirm their insecurities

A vampire- needs to feel important to feel loved- controlling manipulative and domineering...believes others need to be controlled...usually the leader or decision maker..good at covering their tracks, or intimidating people

I am thinking this is a fairly simplistic way of looking at things, and the categories seem a bit dubious to me. Nevertheless, there is now a new book out there called "Vampires, Victims and Sex maniacs"!! I'm not too sure what category I would fall into...I am a little frightened I may be a Vampire...lol!!:laugh:

Yep...to quote the blurb:

"...(the book) is a universal model that differentiates character types but does not differentiate gender. You have character types that attract and character types that repel. There are three main character types and they are Sex maniacs, Victims and Vampires..."

Make of that what you will!

Yes it does...the author is even running a "relationship challenge" inviting those in struggling relationships to take part, and get the relationship they always wanted!!

People will buy the book though, no doubt...maybe the title was simply designed to be catchy and include the word 'sex".
