TheLoneSock
Crazy exercise? Try rock climbing with a reasonable weight vest on. Weighted calisthenics is one thing, rock climbing is entirely different. It will own you, and you will love it.
TheLoneSock
Watch this SKIP AHEAD TO MINUTE 3:05 though Lol I always liked Rocky IV. That is basically old school vs. new school. There's been a gravitation towards the old school methods more and more recently, I like it. Edit: Is it just me, or did Stalone look way cooler with the beard and without the roids? TheLoneSock
While we're on the subject, does anyone have a favorite before-sleep meal for if/when they are in a bulking phase? I personally can't get enough of the PBJ sandwhich + 2 cups yogurt w/fruit and a couple glasses of fat free milk. Then again, I'm still 23 with a metabolism like a furnace. Add a couple scoops of casein protein to this. But I generally don't differentiate between pre-sleep and during the day as far as eating...it doesn't really make a difference... If you can stomach it
TheLoneSock
Indeed, I switch out yogurt with cottage cheese from time to time. I like pepper and diced up tomatoes in mine. As far as casein goes, I do take two scoops of muscle milk a day. It does have slow release casein properties in it but you're right a straight casein powder would probably be better. I'll have to go shopping. The reason I eat right before bed is because if I don't, I wake up starving! See, when I started training a few years ago, I started out at like 130 lbs. with %7 body fat. I was lean and mean (boxing at the time) but wasn't seeing the strength gains I wanted. I'm now up to 158 lbs. with nearly the same body fat percentage, so it has helped the process. Being 5'10", the added weight feels much more comfortable on my frame than when I was lighter. tman, I'm still waiting on my tire inner tube to come in the mail for that Bulgarian training bag. Had to buy one off ebay because NO stores in this area had any for sale Lol. My neighbors are probably going to look at me like I'm a psycho when they see me swinging that thing around in my front yard haha.

Oh well, it's in the mail, so that's all that matters. On the whole people looking at you like they just saw bigfoot thing, well, that's good. As long as you're doing something to freak out the general public, you're doing your job. Keep up the good work.
counterman
What's your work out routine, Hokie? I find battle ropes to be pretty awesome.
tman666
Crazy exercises: Tire flipping. My gym now has two front end loader tires out in the back. So far we got a 300 and a 600. 800 lb'er is coming soon, I hear. I worked with both of them yesterday, and I'm sore in places that I forgot could be sore. Definitely a fun change of pace, plus an excellent way to gauge how functionally strong/powerful you really are. Working out outside is always amazing too.
