So who here is good with Dream Interpretations

Recommended Posts

So of all the dreams I remember, I usually have this one recurring dream 2-3 times a week. While the imagery is often different - different people, different locales, etc., the jist is that in my dream I get informed that I didn't actually graduate college, and that I still need one more class to graduate.

Now there are some variations to this dream as sometimes I didn't graduate HS, and I need one more class. Anyone know what something like this means?

It's an anxiety dream - you're worried about something that may or may not be out of your control, but it's weighing on you perhaps because you feel it's out of your control, or you feel pressure.

It's similar to the classic "forgot to study for the big test" or "forgot to go to one class all semester" dream.

Dream work is something that is entirely personal and unique to the individual. Beware the pop-psychology dream interpreters on the radio or internet.

Everything in a dream is symbolic, they are symbols that your own unconscious mind is conveying to you, or more rightly, your conscious mind. Usually, dreams are inward reflections of things going on inside of you, the struggle between conscious and unconscious. Your deeper mind is trying to communicate with your conscious mind.

Everything you need to know to unlock the meaning is within you, but it takes work to find it.

The best thing to do is write the dream down as soon as you can and in as much detail as you can. Then ponder each symbol, associate the meaning of each image, sound, color, mood with what it means to you. Once you have that worked out, then consider the dynamics or what is going on.

The best book I have ever read on dreams is "Inner Work" by Robert A. Johnson. It is very fascinating.

The "I didn't graduate" dream is very common. Lots of people have that dream and variations of it. I think the meaning is entirely individual, but it can convey a sense of incompleteness, a task left undone, unresolved feelings about something, a sense of inadequacy about something, or something entirely unique to you and your upbringing, culture, social and family situation.

Try to write it down, keep a pen and paper near the bed. Next time you have the dream, try to write down the details as quickly as you can. Then go back to it and let your mind ponder it over slowly.

Don't know diddly-do about dream interpretation but will take a run at it.

It sounds like you don't feel you're good enough. Always being one course short of graduation appears to be a fear of failure that if you pursue something (where graduation is the goal), you'll be found wanting (one course short to graduate).
