Username37
This is where I come in: In my circle of friends I'm now infamous for playing sad, lonely, brokenhearted songs. Here are a few of my favs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0CP9RVvm_4 ^ IMO this is one of the greatest brokenhearted love songs ever. Period. The refrain at the end makes me cry I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star In somebody else's sky but why, why, WHY can't it be mine...? I came here to post Pearl Jam's Black. Vedder's lyrics are just so emotional and incredible. The whole "Ten" album is amazing.

Username37
This song is IMO one of the saddest piano pieces for a film I've ever heard. Every time I listen to it, I tear up a little bit. It reminds you of the good memories of your relationship and even your youth and you can't help but smile.

Author lullaby
Good song Smk! don't be sorry, what it says is what we should all be thinking Another one: Johnny Lang- Give me up again. Here the lyrics, they fit sooo much! "Give Me Up Again" Make up your mind take me or leave me I'll be doing fine with or without you I'm wasting my time letting you deceive me The truth is in your eyes but I deny what I see Time and time again I let you get back under my skin I let you break me down again I let you get close way too close But I see through it You gave me that smile and I gave in And you knew that I would Time and time again you pulled me in Just to give me up, gime me up again What is a dream if it doesn't come true I believe I'll find love but will it be with you I never would have thought such a pretty little face could offer me so much and take all that I had Well I want it back I let you get back under my skin I let you break me down again I let you get close way too close But I see through it You gave me that smile and I gave in And you knew that I would Time and time again you pulled me in Just to give me up, gime me up again Time and time again you pulled me in Just to give me up, give me up, give me up
Thierro
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHWRo5gzxl0 And you open the door and you step inside We're inside our hearts Now imagine your pain as a white ball of healing light That's right, your pain The pain itself is a white ball of healing light I don't think so This is your life, good to the last drop Doesn't get any better than this This is your life and it's ending one minute at a time This isn't a seminar, this isn't a weekend retreat Where you are now you can't even imagine what the bottom will be like Only after disaster can we be resurrected It's only after you've lost everything that you're free to do anything Nothing is static, everything is appaling, everything is falling apart This is your life, this is your life, this is your life, this is your life Doesn't get any better than this This is your life, this is your life, this is your life, this is your life And it and it's ending one-minute at a time You are not a beautiful and unique snowflake You are the same decaying organic matter as everything else We are all part of the same compost heap We are the all singing, all dancing, crap of the world You are not your bank account You are not the clothes you wear You are not the contents of your wallet You are not your bowel cancer You are not your grande latte You are not the car you drive You are not your ****ing khaki's You have to give up, you have to give up You have to realize that someday you will die Until you know that, you are useless I say let me never be complete I say may I never be content I say deliver me from Swedish furniture I say deliver me from clever arts I say deliver me from clear skin and perfect teeth I say you have to give up I say evolve, and let the chips fall where they may This is your life, this is your life, this is your life, this is your life Doesn't get any better than this This is your life, this is your life, this is your life, this is your life And it and it's ending one-minute at a time You have to give up, you have to give up I want you to hit me as hard as you can I want you to hit me as hard as you can Welcome to Fight Club If this is your first night, you have to fight

EyeAlone
This isn't a song that you'd appreciate listening to the day after you break up. This is best heard a few months, years, whatever down the road. My problem is that I get angry thinking about all the time I wasted on him and who I could have met during that time. But this song helps me realize that I shouldn't have any regrets and that I did indeed learn something from the relationship, and to be happy that it's over.
