A few weeks ago, my mother was playing cards with a few friends. A few minutes into the game she suddenly slouched back and appeared to "black out." Her face was contorted on the right side, and the episodes would continue for 30-40 seconds. This happened twice more for shorter periods. She has no history of seizures and is in relatively good health. We called the ambulance and the hospital ran several tests. All tests (including MRI, blood tests, etc.) came up negative. She was prescribed medicine to prevent seizures and recently took a "halo" brain scan. The results will come in Tuesday, but my knowledge of seizures is minimal. The doctors have identified the origin of the seizures occurring in the frontal portion of her brain. I'm obviously concerned (not necessarily for the seizures) but for what this may indicate for the future.

What is our experience with seizures? Do you have any warnings or further information?
