You Go Girl
I'm told I'm pretty and I don't wear makeup. I'm in my 40's and I don't want to bother with it anymore. When I cry, I don't worry about smeared mascara. My pillow cases aren't splotched with makeup, but clean. If I want to rub my eyes, I do. It feels great. I wore a little mascara at a wedding a month ago or so. Only makeup I've worn in over a year, maybe even two years. I think a fit body, nice hair, a clean face, and a smile are beautiful and don't need enhanced.

Sophia8
I only wear mascara and I'm 23, don't feel that I need a lot of make up and sometimes I don't even wear mascara. I was probably about 15 when I started wearing a tiny bit of make up, used to try different eyeshadows but that was more for fun.
Els
Gosh, didn't know you couldn't rub your eyes with makeup on. How does anyone manage that?! :/

lovefromgirl
Age: 24 Started playing around with makeup: 5 (hey, it was a set designed for little girls to play with!) Got serious about makeup: 14 Stopped looking like an idiot: ...sometime between 21 and now :-) I don't always bother with makeup. I have brain fog and pain issues, so "up and dressed" is kind of awesome in itself. When I do wear it, it's because I'm feeling a little drab and have the energy to care. Mostly, I use lip stuff (glosses, sticks, balms), light bronzer or blush, eyeshadow and liner, and the odd dot of concealer. I never got the hang of liquid foundation; at most, I'll sweep some powder over a freshly-lotioned face. I can't manage mascara because I have long eyelashes, wear glasses, and do not possess an eyelash curler (nor do I see why I should bother). My eyelashes are bold enough, thanks, and there's nothing mascara does for my eyes that a good eyeliner doesn't.
flying
I'm now 39, started using makeup regularly around 30 or so. I still don't use much, mostly under-eye concealer for the omnipresent dark circles (grad school/divorce took a toll ) and eyeliner/mascara. Oh, and lip moisturizer, to which I am now addicted. I'm not sure if that counts as makeup. I'm way too lazy to do much else in the mornings, but I do wear eyeshadow/blush/lipstick on occasion at night.
jthorne
I used to work for one of the higher end cosmetic companies. I love makeup.
spookie
I mix a couple drops of liquid foundation into SPF moisturizer in the morning to even out my skin tone. Most days, it's just that and mascara. If I'm going out I'll wear some brown eyeliner, too. I'm 24.
Nikki Sahagin
I think make-up can be great! Its a big part of beautifying yourself up and feeling good about yourself. I also think on the flipside, makeup can be a mask that people hide behind and can also truly distort what a person REALLY looks like; in that way it can be deceitful. I started wearing make-up at 14/15 on holidays only (just some eye-liner and lip gloss). At 17 I began wearing it more; depending on the day, foundation, eye-liner and lipstick/lipgloss. On a night out I go all out with make-up. The rest of the time it depends on how I look that day, what i'm doing and how i'm feeling as well as who i'm with. I'm 21 now. denise_xo
I stopped wearing make up some years back (I'm mid-30s now). I'm a B person and would rather spending the extra time in the morning sleeping I put some on for special occasions (weddings or the like).
harmfulsweetz
I'm 23 now. I wear probably what some classify as a lot of make up everyday, I didn't use to, up until a few months back. A few months back it was just a simple touch of moisturizer and mascara, maybe some lip balm, but now it's the works. Foundation, powder, blusher, bronzer, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, lip liner, lipstick and to finish it off: lip gloss. I probably sound like a total barbie now. I don't think I ever look overdone though, the foundation matches my skin perfectly and I only use a tiny amount, the eyeshadows are nude, and only a little touch eyeliner. Everything is kept very nude based with slight pinky tones. I probably started using make up around age 13. Got serious around 16. It makes me feel good with it on, feel good to spend that amount of time doing myself up, solely on me, something that I can say I spent time on myself, and my appearance. I think people's appearances count for so much of who they are, and I think everyone, or most everyone, feels better when they're in their own personal routine-be it as much make up as I use, or as simple as a touch mascara. Everyone feels best. When I wore little to no make-up I felt shoddy, half done, very aware of how little care I took with my looks. I'm pretty naturally, so I'm told, and I've been chatted up with I've worn no make up and had the hair thrown up in a band, but nothing feels better than when you've spent that time making yourself look good for yourself.
