why do you disagree?

Because women care about looks also

Yes Men care about weight just as much as women care about a Mans height

Both are equally shallow and superficial

Not that many women are concerned bout height. Just that he is the same height or taller than her.

Men are much more into looks than women. that is a fact.

I don't think shallowness is solely a male issue at all both sexes are guilty of it sadly

another know-it-all. Ok.

Yeah, another "I lose so Im just gonna make a personal attack."

women are less driven by physical attributes. Too bad men are not as "deep"

How likely are you to date a man who has no job and considerably shorter than you?

While your second statement is true... the first is a logical fallacy. 'I'm not concerned about your height, you just have to be taller than me'. Errwhat? What would you think of a guy who told you, 'I'm not concerned about your weight, you just have to have a BMI lower than mine'? :lmao:

Lol, somehow I missed that super dumb statement.:laugh::laugh:

I agree it's true for the minority of women who desire kids more than a companion and lover.

But I believe the majority of women who can support themselves want an attractive partner PRETTY much as men do.

I think it would be more accurate to say that women generally have a more broadly encompassing definition of what makes someone sexually attractive and typcially include personality characteristics in that definition to a greater degree.

I don't mean morbidly obese. But maybe a few extra pounds or considered "thick". If a woman has a beautiful face, but may not be a size 2 or 4, but instead a size 10 or 12..would she turn your head? Would you date her?

I live in Florida so on the weekens it's the beach or the pool.. so if she can't wear a bikini...........

BUT, it depends, different tastes for different folks

If a woman has a lovely face, but is rather large or even worse obese then I won't go near them. As I said last month, I go to my gym between three and four times a week, to keep fit, to look good and of course to feel good. I like women who are active, not someone who barely lifts a muscle apart from when she is gorging herself on a Big Mac and Fries.

Btw, I find it hilarious how some guys assume that if a woman isn't exactly at the perfect (aesthetically, not medically) weight, she's sitting around all day gorging herself. Take a look at this woman: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/__CWJQdUMO2s/S50tBl8EiwI/AAAAAAAACoo/jy7oz-oVcMg/s1600-h/me2+-+Copy.JPG . Some may call her heavy. But, from reading her blog, I bet she's fitter than many of the 'I want a slim girlfriend' guys around here. She's an active hiker, often does hikes that take 6+ hours to complete. She does 8km runs. How many of you can hike continuously for 6+ hours while carrying equipment? Hm?

And yet she weighs 135+ lbs. Certainly above the aesthetic ideal.

Does anyone really think that gal is fat? I always say I wouldn't date large fellows. . . but I think I'd date the male equivalent of her weight group and likely have. She seems fit and average to me. But what do I know? (I find it hard to believe Scarlett Johanassen is a Size 12 too. And I can't judge dress size for crap, except in Korea, where there are exactly 3 sizes for most gals my age.)

she has the body of a goddess. What separates her from you?? What is stopping you from going to the gym and working out hard with weights to look like that? there is nothing special about her, she is just some nobody in Brazil with a tremendous work ethic.

answer that question with a REAL answer and I will stop bothering you

Cosmetic surgery.

Seriously.

And I'm not even talking about her tits (perhaps it's the top she's wearing, but they do look fake).

I've been fat most of my life. At one point I was more than 100 lbs overweight. I've lost a lot. Not all of it, but more than enough for me to know that I will never have that kind of body even if I were the same weight she is. Because skin just doesn't shrink that much, even if you lose it slowly.

I'm losing weight and working out for my health, not for my body to be attractive. Honestly, I was probably more attractive at my highest weight, because my skin was not hanging off of me. Another 10 lbs gone and I'll likely qualify for a medically necessary pannectomy.

It will require a total body lift for me to ever get to that kind of looks, and that radical of cosmetic surgery would be insane for me to do until I have kids, because pregnancy would ruin even the best tummy tuck. So if I ever do get married, it'll be to someone who pays attention to my face more than my body.

Also, for those who are wondering how I got that fat and what I've done to not be that fat anymore:

I got that way because of a combination of family genetics (on my mother's side she and four other people have had gastric bypass surgery, my dad was an only child and doesn't know much about his father's family, his mom was adopted, but she died at well over 500 lbs), good old Southern cooking, and coping with problems by eating. I'm sure the steroids for asthma and birth control pills I was on made their contributions (had clinically low thyroid hormone levels while on the pill, when I came off of them my thyroid normalized).

I lost the majority of my weight when I was 20, when I came off of birth control pills and moved out to the country to live with the hippies. Health food is not necessarily low-calorie, but I learned to appreciate food that was not junk or deep-fried. I also had a much more physically active lifestyle out there. Gardening, carrying buckets of food and water for livestock (we had two feeder calves and a nanny goat with a kid), walking the 1 and 3/10s of a mile to the county line and back when it was my turn to find where the deer ate through the phone line we ran from the junction box there to have dialup Internet (the service stopped at the county line, they set up a box there but we were responsible for maintaining the line to the house), etc.

There were two times I regained -- once, when doctors put me on a medication that *severely* jacked up my hormones (ever start lactating when not preggers? Yeah, that's some jacked up hormones all right for you), and when I dislocated my kneecap falling on ice and couldn't work out for six months because of it.

I'm a size 14 right now. I was a size 26 at my highest. I'm still not thin. I work out three times a week and use the "weight watchers" points system to evaluate food choices. The best exercise machine at my gym for me is the seated elliptical trainer because it does not stress my bum knee (the MCL is still bad but I'm trying to put off surgery as long as I can) -- I can keep an aerobic-level heartbeat for 45 minutes on it, whereas I can only do 20 on a regular elliptical and exercise bikes don't do anything for the upper body.

So yeah, I'm still fat. I don't think I'll ever be "thin", not for lack of trying but there is a genetic and hormonal component to weight (or there would be no such thing as Metabolic Syndrome X.) But at my highest weight I had borderline high blood pressure -- at 20! My blood pressure at my last physical was 110/70. My cholesterol is so good that the levels of "bad cholesterol" were undetectable, good cholesterol was 47, and total cholesterol was 112. Optimum ratio for total to good cholesterol is 3.5 to 1 (higher is bad), mine's 2.3 to 1. My blood sugar is normal and stays in the normal range most of the time per the blood marker test, so I'm not demonstrating insulin resistance.

The *only* way a person is successful at losing weight and keeping it off is if they're doing it for themselves, not for people to find them attractive. What matters is that I'm healthy, that I'm not about to keel over from a heart attack or stroke. If you're doing it for anyone else other than yourself, you are not going to succeed.

And people who think that "tough love" type posts to people who are fat actually make any difference -- they do make a difference, but not in the way you think. For many people there is an emotional component to overeating. If you make us feel crappy about ourselves, all you're doing is making us want to seek solace in food more.

She's not fat at all and certainly not in the terms I'm referring too. Her weight is probably down to her muscles. If she is hiking 6+ hours and running 8km then she's gonna be heavy due to her muscle build up.

Body weight is more important to me than a beautiful face. I'd like to feel bigger than my woman and I'd like to be able to manhandle her when we're fooling around. That being said, there's plenty of big fellas out there for the big ladies. I'm 6'1" 175-180lbs.

My bf has told me that, to him, weight is just a number that means little. Proportional bodies and looking at the whole package are more important than a number. I highly doubt he even knows the difference between a women's size 6 and a size 10 if you simply told him those numbers.

Anyways, this dress sizing in this thread confuses me. From what country are we talking about here? eg. Size 6 in USA is size 10 in Australia.

I think it all boils down to personal taste and to some degree wither or not the guy is confident enough to date a girl who's not a size 2.

It's funny, i've been hanging out with a woman that's a size 0-1 according to her (she is tiny) she has good muscle tone & small breasts.

5'4" & 115-120lbs I think she said.

But she's 38 & has a 1 yr old so she still has a little bit of belly & wider hips & that's what really draws me in.

She also has a great personality & is fun to be with.

I knew her back in highschool & again ran into 10yrs ago & honestly I wasn't all that attracted to her psyically. She has always been well toned but just too thin for my tastes.

My STBXW was probably 100lbs when I met her & I wasn't really attracted to her psyically either but she also had a great personality & was fun to be with. I didn't become attracted to her until I found out how aggressive she was in bed.

I usually go for the "bigger" girls in the 130 to 150 range as long as they are carrying it well. Not a big fan of the "pouch" as most women arn't a fan of a guys love handles or power gut.

Shape > face for me. Have been attracted to/dated several women who has better body assets than facial assets. I can't function sexually with a woman who is past a certain level of fatness, too flabby, too little waist or too much abdominal area fat and the equipment just won't work.

men and women lose and gain weight very differently

This is true. Even the Laws of Physics discriminate against women.

bull: good name by the way. says alot. YOU ARE POSTING MODELS AND FITNESS GURUS. not the kind of women that live next door. I'm done. omg!

Do you live in some kind of strange "Village of the Obese" or something?

It sounds like an M. Night Shamaylan movie or something.

I can't date overweight women. They're not physically attractive to me. Need a gal with a smoking body and a decent face before things get started.

that "bull" guy doesn't get it. He keeps posting, models, playboy girls, and fitness gurus. I have said "average, everyday women" multiples times. Its pointless for him. Maybe another guy will get the point of the question.

The problem is that the "average" adult woman in the U.S. at any rate is medically considered obese. (Men, too.)

"Average" doesn't cut it. "Average" doesn't even come close, because "average" is unhealthy.

Look at the portion sizes of the typical American diet. It's actually insane.

You CANNOT go to a restaurant (I mean a regular one, not a fast food place) anymore and get a hamburger that is LESS than a full half pound of meat, pre cooked. That's an insane amount of caloric overload. Add on a gigantic bun, cheese, bacon, side dishes, beverages, dessert, and people are consuming 4-5x as many calories as they actually need.

A coca cola bottle used to be 6 ounces. 8 oz. was the "large" size, 12 oz. was extra large. Now kids are getting 3 litre bottles from Quick Check or 7-11 and guzzling that down as "one soda."

So the fact that the average american woman might be a size 12/14/16 doesn't justify being that size, because whatever size is "average" statistically, is reflective of a prevailing culture of sloth, overindulgence, and rampant obesity.

The skinny people are gobbling down tons of fast food rubbish too. How can they be skinny and not exercise and eat a bunch of garbage?
