SpanksTheMonkey
I couldn't disagree more, it's all in the BMI index and of course health experts. Granted a size 12' is not skinny, nor large, a size 16,18,20 are definitely designed for the ever increasing overweight population. Im sorry but I have to disagree the American BMI index is totally insane according to it George Bush and Michale Jordan are obese if I remember right. Its seriously flawed and far as most of those so called "health experts" they all have there hand in the cookie jar when it comes to the profits made off of weight loss. Its a billion dollar industry in the USA alone its sickening of course there going to say some one who is a size 12 is obese that way they can give her a body image prob and sell her a bunch of useless crap that wont work anyways mean time CHA-CHING dr doofus gets a brand new BMW its not that hard to see this... I also think thats why so many of the general population think other wise healthy women are "fat" its because the weight loss industry have been conditioning us to believe it to serve there own greed for YEARS. I have no faith in neither the glorious BMI or the quacks sorry I do believe in being a healthy weight for ones own body tho no one needs to be excessively obese...
djhall
I don't know why we even need or care about BMI when body fat % seems a lot more useful and accurate for a lot more body types for measuring the exact same thing.
SpanksTheMonkey
Need proof of my little theory? take a look at what use to be considered 'Hot" from our past women like Marilin Monroe now she had some meat on her but wasn't "fat" by any means in my eyes anyways she was healthey and attractive looking. Now a days tho im sure allot of people would think she was a bigger gal or even "fat" Mean time same people would think a women who was so thin some of her bones show is healthy thats the difference thats the mass brain wash at work... stellaluna
I prefer my girls to be on the slim side. If I'm honest, Id see an overweight girl, recognize her potential, and think its a shame shes heavy. A bigger girl with a pretty face is someone Id pass on. A size 12 is way too heavy for my tastes. ConfusedAsUsual
I would love to know what some of these guys look like. I work with some of the biggest jerks. I over hear them talking bout women and what they think and who they think is hot or not. Most of them are not even attractive! Its like they don't see what other see in the mirror. So when I hear men say what they will or will not tolerate in looks on a woman and he isn't even attractive, it boggles my mind.
USMCHokie
I don't know why we even need or care about BMI when body fat % seems a lot more useful and accurate for a lot more body types for measuring the exact same thing. One of the reasons is the availability of these figures. BMI is a calculation based on two measurements (height and weight) that most people have accurate figures for. Take the two numbers and punch it into a website on the internet to figure out your BMI. Easy. However, body fat is not readily measurable, much less accurately measurable. Most self-measurement devices are extremely inaccurate. Additionally, most people don't even know how to measure body fat, and if they do, they often do it incorrectly. The only reasonably accurate method is through the use of "bod pods" which use liquid or air to compress your body and spit out numbers.

Short and fat verses tall and still to big in my books. I probably wouldn't even notice a 5'4 chick, skinny or fat. Ideally, I like a tallish slender girl. To me, a size 12 is too big. BMI is quick and easy whereas body fat % requires time and large specialized equipment to measure accurately.
ConfusedAsUsual
I think women should take more time to realize just how much potential they have to be physically irresistible to the opposite sex. so we should all change our bodies to cater to men? wtf
SpanksTheMonkey
so we should all change our bodies to cater to men? wtf Every time a women puts on makeup or has her hair done or her nails shes changing herself to attract attention taking care of yourself physicality is no different. I'm not saying we need to cater to every mans wim no ill never be a size 5 nor do I care to be so bugger them. But on the flip side there is no need to let oneself go that much as in serious obesity. And if you do then don't expect to be admired as much as some one who takes better care of themselves I think this goes for men and women.

And if you do then don't expect to be admired as much as some one who takes better care of themselves I think this goes for men and women. I think this is a point that needs to be stressed...individuals, regardless of gender, really have no right to complain about another person who works harder to improve themselves (whether it's in fitness, education, career, or anything else) having more dating options than they do...if you are satisfied with the way you are, then that's great, but also realize that dating really is a big competition...and there will always be people "better" and "worse" than you...and if you are content with yourself, then you should also be content with where you fall within that dating "spectrum"...it's just the way our society has been tempered...everyone expects the best for themselves...so with that prevailing logic, if you want the goods, you gotta bring the goods... I live to please myself because I know that if im happy then most likely ill be healthy and as a bonus it will attract positive attention form those around me. Also I never said you didn't do those things but also keeping ones weight in check is a way of caring for ones self as well That was one of my main points in that post. I wonder this as well...a truly attractive women that gets her fair share of attention from men would not have such a rigid and bitter view of the entire male gender being so absolutely shallow...she must not have had the greatest of life experiences...
