denise_xo
I am interested to know your answers to these questions; What are your goals in life? What are you doing to achieve these goals? What is making it difficult for you to achieve these goals? I grant you three wishes; what do you wish and why? 1. Living in a state of presence; learning; immersing myself in stimulating work projects. And more generally, just enjoying the journey! 2. Reaching for learning opportunities, prioritizing what's interesting over what gives me highest financial pay back, engaging in mindfulness practices. 3. The fact that there is only 24 hours in a day; lack of concentration and mindfulness. 4. Right now I only have one: I want to reach clarity on whether I should stay or go (my relationship), because I'm f%&/()g fed up of thinking about it Oh, and more than 24 hours to a day. And since I have one left: I'd like some good cheese cake, too
shayan
To be the best damn doctor ever, but not pretentiously or anything in my own way with love and awesomeness. Oh and to make some sort of big scientific or psychological, or humanitarian contribution. ahhh slaving in school, building my self up like a tank! nothing anymore, just some procrastination at times, oh and lots of examinations and cash! love, love, love all I want it love for myself, to others, from others. Someone to love again hehehe, I think were all just here for that honestly.
robaday
What are your goals in life? To continue learning new skills-I want to do another degree (part time), learn a new language and travel extensively. Most importantly I really need to find my own internal happiness after a pretty **** couple of years, continuing to build on the suicidal drug addicted broken man I was two years ago....living in the moment I feel will be key to this. Oh and learning to stop self sabotaging. What are you doing to achieve these goals? Small things. I'm teaching myself how to cook, I'm lifting weights for first time in my life, I'm cutting right back on drinking now (it was drugs two years ago-first things first:)) and saving money, I'm running 3 times a week, I'm volunteering and generally keeping very busy. I'm trying to maximise every hour I get in the day to push myself-we only live once, and I've already lost two years of my life in the dark pits of despair. I won't allow it to happen again. What is making it difficult for you to achieve these goals? Intense commitment phobia, not just with women but complete and utter indecisiveness which frustrates not only me but those around me. Complete inability to live in the present-most people when meeting me think I'm stoned-I'm not, just lost in my own little world....hence losing stuff all the time, forgetting passwords, anniversaries etc etc. I grant you three wishes; what do you wish and why? 1) I want to be able to live in the present, embrace the power of now and stop fretting about decisions in the past or right now or indeed in the future. The reason why is because it would allow me to start enjoying life after too long spent in the doldrums. It would allow me to be more productive at work, and to "be there" for my friends, family and future girlfriends 2) I wish society would teach people how to deal with grief and would be more proactive in teaching about depression. I don't think the world understands the damage that can be caused to people by loss or trauma, I think that mental health still has a major stigma attached to it, I believe that thousands of lives could be saved through better education and less prejudice. I believe the mental health of thousands, if not millions of people could be helped if attitudes changed. 3) I want to be happy and the reason why is I deserve to be happy. shayan
Robaday I could not agree with you more on the mental health stigma, we should be more open.
wuggle
My principle aim in life is to figure out why the hell I'm here and what I should be doing. To that end I have read as much as I reasonably can about many philosophies & religions and aspects of science and spent countless hours thinking, trying to find any grains of truth. In all that time I have learnt to reject all belief in god, religion or any underlying reason or grand design. My main hope is that as part of the human race I will contribute some small measure to it's evolution (as we all do) which has such potential. Where will our race be in 10, 50 , 500 or 5000 years time ? mind boggling !, that's enough until I find a better truth
