I like getting advice from family but I would never tell someone my reasoning for a decision is "it's what my parents/family want". If you didn't want someone wouldn't you take responsibility for your decision and say "it's what I want"? The family excuse just sounds like you don't want to admit your true feelings (whether positive or negative) or you don't have the courage to take control of your own life. I honestly don't see much grey area. People who play the family card are weak. Am I missing something?
